Canmore is a convenient and cheaper place to stay when visiting Banff and the mountain areas. One word of advice though; many of the Canmore hotels are right on the railroad tracks. The wall does not prevent the noise of a freight train going by at 3 am. It was very annoying the first night but we stuck it out for two more and it was quite funny. Some local colour.
