Blues on Whyte
My husband and I stayed here for a week while looking for a place to rent. It's definitely no frills (one day the toilet was clogged and when we told them about it, they handed us a plunger - but we had to laugh!). You can get rooms with private bathrooms or you can get one with the bathroom down the hall. Try to get a room away from the pub because you will hear the band through the floor if you're over it!
Unique Quality: This is a historic building. The pub is called Blues on Whyte and has gathered a reputation for good music. It used to be the biker hangout (not sure if it still is) but all are welcome and as long as you aren't hassling them, they'll leave you alone. It's a friendly place and there are great restaurants and shopping on the block.
