Staying at the Fairmont...

Staying at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise gives you some of the most spectacular views imaginable, in addition to an atmosphere of luxury and one of the most famous in the world. This hotel is located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies surrounded by towering mountains and spectacular scenery. If you want to be pampered and got money, stay here, if not just stroll through, check it out then stay on other cheaper motels 100K down the road. Every lodge in this village is expensive.

For the light travellers (and...

For the light travellers (and I mean monetary and not luggage), there is a hostel in Edmonton. Its location is pretty close to Whyte Avenue (the place to be in Edmonton). Prices are definitely reasonable and I've heard it's a pretty safe place.
Prices range from $18-$25 (depends if you get a dorm or if you're a member, etc...).

Unique Quality: TV room, internet access, laundry facilities, self-service kitchen, etc.

Holiday Inn Express/Edmonton International Airport: Nice hotel along with an excellent price

This hotel is a first-class facility offering free airport shuttle service (24 hrs), a whirlpool, and exercise room. I was able to get an internet fare sale price of $82.50 (Canadian + tax)...which was not bad at all!!!

Unique Quality: This hotel offers a free deluxe breakfast bar with all kinds of goodies, free local calls, free parking (for up to one week), plug-ins for all stalls (for you non-Canadians...when it gets cold up here and I do mean cold, the plug-ins are used to attach an extension cord to the engine heater so that your vehicle can start up), free in-room coffee and tea.
