As you can see from the map the Mayfield is very close to the West Edmonton Mall if that is of interest to you. Just a very short drive away, probably 5 minutes or less but it would be a long walk.
I would stay here again for sure. I included the hotel web site address for more information on the hotel.
Unique Quality: I have stayed here a few nights now and the rooms are very nice. The hotel is modern and the dining room is good. I keep having the breakfast buffet that was included in our room rate.
One of this hotels most unique features is the "Dinner Theatre". I havn't attended it yet but it does look very interesting if your into the arts.
I was here for a week in the middle of January so that means seriously cold weather! The hotel is a bit dated but seems to have everything that a 3 star hotel needs. There's a fitness room with a swimming pool which I didn't use, a bar and a beauty salon too. The restaurants aren't bad, this being Alberta steaks feature highlky on the menu. One of the restaurants is a cafe type venue which also doubles as the breakfast room in the morning. I've written a separtate review on the posher bar and grill so check that out.
Rooms are a uncharacterful but no different to any other hotel in this class. The important thing for me was that the heating worked. Considering it was so cold outside it was nice to return to a nice warm room at the end of the day.
Unique Quality: Nothing really makes this hotel stand out. Most people were here on business rather than in town visiting the malls.
Many fine hotels in the Edmonton area. On of my favorites is the Mayfield Inn, on Mayfield Road in the west end of the city.
Around $149+ per night (though proces vary if it's a weekend or something). Call to check. They do have the occasional package deal (like stay for $99/night).
Unique Quality: Mayfield Inn is home to a well-known dinner theater production in the city. Often there are plays or musicals being produced for a monthly run. Been there a couple of times and it was fun (think it was a Rock & Roll musical) and the buffet was YUMMY!
There are shuttle buses you can take from the airport ($11/head) and they'll drop you off at the lobby.
Directions: Located at 16615 - 109th Avenue. It's about a 5-10 mins ride to West Edmonton Mall and about another 15 mins away from downtown.
