Edmonton bus station

by gchristie

I'll be arriving in Edmonton at 23.40 and will have to wait for my connecting bus the next morning at 06.50. Will it be ok for me to hang around until the morning i.e. is anything open at this time near to the bus station? Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks.

RE: Edmonton bus station

Personally, I would get a hotel. There is nothing to do, and the area is kind of dodgy during those hours. If you can sleep in a chair, fine, but.....I am accustomed to adversity, and I wouldn't do it.

I'd advise finding a hotel/hostel/friend's place because as the first person said, the bus station can be sketchy at best. Otherwise, google Dennys or Humptys...they're both 24 hour restaurants that are downtownish.

What bus station are you arriving into?

Travel Tips for Edmonton

I think I pretty much summed...

by gnowk

I think I pretty much summed everything up in my title page... I've got 24 years (EEK!) of memories here. I think my two most favorite events (and hence, my memories) that I would miss the most when I eventually (finally) leave Edmonton would be the Birkebeiner X-C ski race in February and the Edmonton Folk Music Festival in August. Please see pictures...

Heritage Festival- A Cultural Journey

by Hanau93

The Festival usually takes place the first weekend in August . Hawrelark Park serves as the venue where all the different ethnic groups have their tents and stages up. You can learn about the individual cultures, take in the dances and also the excellent food. Be aware though that you will not be able to take your car. Edmonton Transit offers rides from spots that are advertised in the paper and the shuttle service is pretty frequent.
There is no entrance fee but a donation for the foodbank ( cans , non-perishables) is greatly appreciated.. Enjoy!!

Go Oilers Go!

by Rice_Paper

When in Edmonton, if you get a chance, definitely head down to the Skyreach Center to catch a hockey game. GO EDMONTON OILERS!!!!!!! Ticket prices range from $22 (standing) - $118 (Gold seats; closest to the ice).

The Edmonton Corn Maze

by Darby2

Just southwest of the city's boundary is the Edmonton corn maze. Each year the pattern of the maze takes on a different theme...last year the maze was patterned after the Edmonton Oilers. The maze is divided into two sections, each with 8 numbered marker posts that you must negotiate during your attempt. Each section took me nearly an hour to find my way through.

The location: On Garden Valley Road, west of 199 Street.

Edmonton's Irish Pub

by Jefie about O'Byrne's Irish Pub

One of Whyte Ave's most popular spots! O'Byrne's is pretty much your typical Irish pub: good beer, good grub, good fun!! There's live music pretty much every night which makes it a good place to hang out all week long! Casual
