I don't know if it's worth the long drive from Calgary to get here, but if you do come, don't worry, you'll find something to do. Definately see the West Edmonton Mall, it's huge, and has everything you'd ever need inside. The West Edmonton Mall, and the long drive to the city.

Edmonton is fairly diverse for such a small city. The largest ethnic groups are the Ukranians, Germans, East Indians, Chinese, Irish, Scottish - not in that order. In Vegreville, Alberta there is a huge Ukranian easter egg on display that would be great to see if you painted easter eggs as a child.
Cheap skiing!
by VTShounen
Edmonton has 3 ski hills, and one more just outside the city. They are cheap and easy to get to - Edmonton Ski Club is less than 5 minutes from downtown!
If you're here in winter and looking for something different to do.. well you could head out to the Rockies, but barring that, why not kill a few hours skiing?
The ski hills are:
Edmonton Ski Club
Snow Valley
Sunridge
Rabbit Hill Renting is very cheap as well.
How more can I emphasize this? Cheap cheap cheap!
When it gets hot...get ice cream
by Rice_Paper
It's nice to walk around Whyte Ave in the summertime. You can window shop, stop for a cup of iced mocha or a cold brew.
I like to stop for ice cream at Berzerk. It's a lil corner ice cream shop on Whyte (105 Street). Often voted as the best ice cream in Edmonton and I whole heartedly agree. HEHEHEH.
Karaoke with class
by Karlie85 about B Street Bar
B Street Bar is the nicest karaoke bar I have been to in Edmonton. The other ones I have been to have been a bit dingy with some questionable clientel, but not this place. As soon as you walk in the smell of wood fired pizza hits you and won't leave until you try some. I was a little disappointed that the pizza wasn't as good as I expected, but it was still ok. I wasn't drinking, but the people I was with said that the drinks seemed a bit watered down. The main reason for this place is karaoke! They have a massive selection of songs; the book to choose from is about 450 pages. The people ranged in age anywhere from early 20s to early 50s, and everyone was having a really good time. The room itself is quite large. There are a couple of pool tables, TVs all around the room, and a very big screen tv that displays the lyrics to the songs that are being sung (which is much nicer than those tiny screens some other bars have). I had wanted to go to B Street Bar for a long time, and I was not disappointed. No dress code was indicated.
Jeans and t-shirts seemed to be the main attire, so I think anything goes here.
