Cruising with attitude!
The only skyscraper in town, at 13 stories!
Grande Prairie has one local paper everyday, called the Daily Herald Tribune. Their website is:

You can also get the Edmonton Journal and Edmonton Sun here daily. Just stop in at any gas station to pick yours up!
Nitehawk Ski Area - enjoy winter downhill skiing and snowboarding from late November to early April, night skiing available. Summer facilities available for BBQ's, Weddings, Staff Functions, Retirement Parties, Family Reunions
Nitehawk also has the best ski chalet for miles. Me, being a non-skier, have spent many a days drinking hot chocolate and baily's - with whipped cream, naturally! Nitehawk has a rental facility for skis, snowboards, boots, poles, etc.
O'Brian Park is just outside of Grande Prairie, and is a great day use area. There is a park for kids, campfire areas, free wood to use, and outhouses. The park is alongside the Wapiti River. Most summers it is low enough to swim in, or take the dogs swimming in! You can also fish, or boat, in the river.
As its only about 5 minutes outside of Grande Prairie, this is the perfect picnic spot, or midnight swim area!
