Best Western Suites Hotel by Bwana_Brown While we were in Calgary visiting my daughter and her boyfriend at their one-bedroom apartment, we needed to find ourselves some nearby accommodations. Even though I phoned only one night in advance, the Best Western Suites was able to offer me a double room for the next four nights without any problem at all. It is only three blocks from the apartment and is within easy walking distance of the downtown shops and business area, including the Calgary Tower, Chinatown and the Bow riverwalk. When we finally did arrive at about 7 PM on a Monday night, the receptionist said that they were out of double rooms but would upgrade us to a suite for no additional charge (we paid US$114 per night including taxes).
Our suite was huge, with a large living room equipped with two couches, a desk and a large TV as well as a VCR. Its adjoining dining room table area connected to a full kitchen and there were two bedrooms and a full bathroom. Each bedroom also had a TV, but we did not really spend much time watching these contraptions! We were on the 6th floor and had no problem with street noise when we went to bed (usually late!). There was above-ground parking (which we used without any problems to find a spot) and underground as well. The room rate includes a free continental breakfast of juice, cereal, toast, coffee, etc. Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: 1330 8th St. SW, Calgary, AB T2R 1B6Phone: 403-228-6900Directions: Downtown

Jasper Inn Brochure by LoriPori We arrived in Jasper, Friday, June 6. After checking out a few places, we decided on the JASPER INN ALPINE RESORT. They were all very pricy. We had a standard room, nothing special, no air-conditioning. I guess you pay for the resort amenities which include an indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna and steam room. There is also a nice Garden Terrace to have that cup of coffee or afternoon tea. Also fine dining is available in the Inn Restaurant. The price was $125.00 plus taxes ($140.00) and that was with my CAA card discount.

Red Carpet Inn by LoriPori Sunday, May 25. After driving from Calgary, we made our way to Banff and decided upon the RED CARPET INN. It was walking distance from downtown and close to shops and restaurants. The price wasn't bad for Banff, $75.00 plus taxes($84.00). Bow Valley Motel Brochure by LoriPori On Sunday, June 8, Hans and I went to Canmore to check it out and also spend the night. Canmore has much more hotel\motel choices than Banff. We decided upon the BOW VALLEY MOTEL. The owners were friendly and helpful and the motel was in a great location, right downtown and close to shops and resaurants. We had a fridge in our room which I liked and you could park your car right in front of your door. The price was $80.00 plus taxes ($89.60)

Travelodge Brochure by LoriPori Monday June 9. Hans and I pre-booked the TRAVELODGE HOTEL as we did not want to be looking for a place when we got there. As we were going to Calgary Airport the next morning, we wanted a hotel that provided transportation to the airport. We were very satisfied with the selection we made. Our pre-arranged price was $80.71 plus taxex ($90.40) Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: 2750 Sunridge Blvd. N.E., Calgary AlbertaPhone: 1-403-291-1260Website: www.travelodge.com Other Contact: 1-800-578-7878

The Fairmont Hotel, Banff Springs by Astrobuck This is where you want to stay to get pampered. Yes, it costs about $225 CDN per night, but it is well worth it. Valet parking, your luggage gets carried up to your room, all you can eat buffet (and it isn't like Pizza hut, I'm talking gourmet dishes like 10 different types of cakes and pies, numeous meats in special sauces, etc), and it is HUGE. Do not confuse it with Lake Louise. The Fairmont at Lake Louise is nothing like the Banff Fairmont. The town of Banff is awesome, and it is only about 2 minutes from the hotel.
Oh man, the pool rocks. It is fueled by a hot spring. It was 17 degrees F outside, but the water was about 90 and had a bunch of natural salts and minerals in it. There is also a spa, sushi restaurant, and a couple of gift shops. You will make a big mistake and cheat yourself if you do not stay here.
