    We arrived in Jasper Friday, June 6. After checking out a few places, we decided on the JASPER INN ALPINE RESORT.They were all very pricy. We had a standard room, nothing special, no air-conditioning. I guess you pay for the resort amenities, which include an indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna and steam room. There is also a nice Garden Terrace to have that cup of coffee or afternoon tea. Also fine dining is availabe in the Inn Restaurant. The price was $125.00 plus taxes ($140.00) and that was with my CAA discount

    A couple of minutes away from Jasper's restaurants and lovely views of surrounding mountains.

    This place is truly unbelievable, the accomodations and the vistas are second to none. There is so much to do, both at the resort and in the surrounding area that it is virtually impossible to get bored here. You will certainly pay up to stay here, but you will not be disappointed at all. If you happen to travel here in the summer time, the golf is world class!

    • $55 (CAN) per night for the queen. One of the cheaper B&Bs we found listed on the net.

    B&B owner is very pleasant, easy-going lady. House is cute, the queen bed we had was comfy, the room cozy. There are two more rooms, one with a double, the other with two singles. Shared bath. Sitting area with T.V. and small fridge where you can put a few things. Breakfast is so-so, not huge, but enough. Coffee was weak. There are many more B&B's in the area, if you get there and she has no vacancy.

    • While in Jasper your cheaper accom. are usually found just a short distance from Restuarants & Grocery Stores. Bed & Breakfast location keep you in the lower price range & help with the travel expense. All Season Accomodation B&B gtassoni@incentre.net os just one of the many B&B's in the town. Jasper Hostelling has 3 places in the area which are quite nice.

    • There are lots of Home Accomodations in Jasper. A nice, spacious affordable one is Sandra's Place. Reservations by telehone only 1-780-852-3389. Can easily accomodate a family, has back deck, BBQ, awsome veiw, very friendly and helpful hosts.

    • Our door would not close and it was minus 34 degrees, nearly froze all night, they were very apologetic in the morning, but that just didnt't cut it. No I don't think I would stay there again. The room was about 100 sq feet at the most and at $137.00 (taxes incl) I expected more.

    • Although we had a confirmed "well appointed room with cathedral ceiling and mountain view", we found ourselves in a room like a jail in the basement with low ceiling, no view at all, no proper chairs, a bad mattress and a poor bathroom.

    Next morning we got our breakfast (also not in the guest dining room as promised) in a basket with four more or less old muffins, just one little bottle of orange juice and one candy bar. It turned out this was our 'continental breakfast' (yummie, yummie).

    We didn't get any apologies or even did met our host(s) !!

    • We stayed in Jasper for about two nights back in 1993 after visiting relatives around Edmonton and, of course, the West Edmonton Mall. But it was nice to be back in the Rockies again.

    The Sawridge Inn is located in downtown Jasper, which is a relatively quiet town when you compared it the tourusty, bustling Banff. Jasper felt a bit old fashioned that way - an unassuming mountain town. However, because Jasper has limited accommodation choices, don't assume you can show up without a reservation! Have your reservation weeks, if not months, in advance.

    The Sawridge was perfect for us. It was located across the street from the railroad tracks, not far from the train station. Noise wasn't an issue.

    We loved the Sawridge because as 10 and 13 year olds, we could go swimming in their indoor swimming pool. It's actually set up rather uniquely, because the swimming pool sits in the centre of the hotel, and all the hallways are set up like balconies overlooking the swimming pool. So basically, if you opened your hotel room door, you would smell chlorine and see the swimming pool right below.

    There were also restaurants and cafes within this restaurant which we probably ate at for breakfast. Overall, it was a decent accommodation for our family - we rather enjoyed our stay.
