has anyone taken the skeena train from jasper to prince rupert?
it is worth to pay 5 times more to travel on the totem class?
anyone reccomending a hotel for the night stop at prince george?
If you're used to picnicking then there's no need to pay the outrageous amount asked No.
Just make sure you're well equipped for the journey with a cooler full of drinks, cheese, bread, mayo, and veggies/fruits galore.
Expect nothing from VIA Rail and you won't be disappointed-the scenery is often lovely.
Haven't been in 'The Pig' as Prince George is known for a few years and the last place I stayed at I arr'd in the dark and left in the dark.
It is possible to travel by the coach that drives on to the Columbia Glacier and also walk on the ice.
The meltwater from the massive Glacier around yu reaches three Oceans, the Pacific, tha Atlantic and the Arctic.
Busiest time for the tour is between 10.00am and 3.00pm. Advance reservations are not normally taken for individual travellers.
Going to Jasper is like a breath of fresh air. Located in the east side of the Canadian Rockies 280kms west of Edmonton, there is nothing but beauty here. The town offers everything. Everthing is in walking distance and hiking trails here are unlimited. Jasper Lodge is just a few miles away & there are 3 lakes in the immediate area just minutes away. The water is a clear as glass with its green reflexion from the Blue Spruce & Pine Trees. Accomodations are plentiful, with 3 hostel location. Deer, Elk, Moose, Mountain Sheep, along with numerous species of birds and other animals are to be see. A place you will never forget for a return visit.
This sulphur lake had a magnetism that kept drawing me back to look at it. Nearby were some climbers attempting to climb the mountain you see on the left.
But it was the aqua-blue-green of the lake that captured me.
Glacial melts
Pine trees were a regular feature of Jasper.
