Jasper- advise needed for our honeymoon please

by emilynoakes

Hi there...

I'm going to Jasper for a week early September and was wandering if anyone could shed some light on our plans.

We dont want to stay in a big expensive hotel but we are on a honeymoon so want to stay somewhere romantic. We love camping, but obviously travelling from the uk we wont have any gear, so we were hoping to be able to stay in a lodge or cabin. We'd like to stay somewhere really romote and beautiful, maybe next to a river or lake. We dont want to be competing with large amounts of tourists. We love walking so to be somewhere with great walking trails or cycling trails would be nice.

Can anyone help? We dont mind travelling away from jasper to get away from the crowds.

Thanks!

Hi Emily,

We went to Jasper a few years ago and stayed at Pine Bungalow Cabins. Located on a riverside location (the beautiful Athabasca river is just outside your door), Pine Bungalows Features quiet cozy cabins in a pinewood setting. Approximately 1 mile from town (1/4 mile off Hwy. 16 in the beautiful Jasper National Park) are 81 cabins that have ample parking, kitchens, fireplaces, nice sized bathrooms and refridgerators. If you are lucky, you can get one of the cabins that face the Athabasca River. There are no phones or tv's in the room, but just peace and quiet (Prices: US$80-120). For more information, you can call them: (780) 852-3491 or check out their website: http://www.jasperadventures.com/index.htm

Sincerely,

Spartan

Hi,

Good advice from Spartan. You may also want to have a look at Patricia Lake Bungalows, located on Patricia Lake. Other similar accommodations - outlying cabins-style places - are Tekarra Lodge, Alpine Village, Becker Chalets, Pyramid Lake Bungalows, Sunwapta Falls Resort and Jasper House Bungalows.

You will want to make reservations for Jasper as soon as possible - September is a quieter time, but it could still be busy enough that you might have trouble finding something suitable if you leave it too long.

Happy planning!
