Really nice campground in local provincial park. Around the lake, quite a few sites, but usually packed during summer so call ahead. Nice sandy beach, lots of open grass for volley ball and stuff. great for water skiing, wake boarding, things like that.
Beautiful scenery and the loon calls in early evening are really beautiful. Nice walking path around the lake too. No fish in this lake though and check for leeches.
Really nice place, but way out in the middle of nowhere. Dorm style rooms, 6 bunks to a room if i remember right. Outdoor hot tub, kitchen facilities downstairs. Kinda hard to get to though unless you've got your own transportation.
Located in the forrests of the Canadian Rockies at least 100km from anything bigger than a village of 100 people. Beautiful scenery, nice digs. Accross the highway from an old mining town called Nordegg. Town used to be huge, now virtually a ghost town.
The north Saskatchewan river runs along the edge of town. Highway 11 crosses it on the north west side of town. Right before the bridge, you can drive off the road down a steep bank to the river bed. All along here are 4X4 trails littered with campsites, or more appropriately, places you could pitch a tent and have a fire. Close to town, beside a river and free. Not bad as long as the boys don't have the 4x4s out all night.
same as above description. Little note, across the river is a good place for people with big RV's, although they do charge there, but it's pretty minor.
Pretty nice campground around the lake, not too many sites so it's not overly packed with people. The lake is also stocked with rainbow trout, they're small, but their fun to catch, especially for kids.
Usually pretty peaceful, lake is great for skinny dipping! no leeches!
