Formerly the El Cortez...Under New Mgmt!

This motel was formerly called the El Cortez. While I have never stayed at this motel, the new owners (who purchased the property in 2004) have lived in the Waterton area for a long time, and are knowledgeable on the area.

This is an older 60's style motel and the decor reflects this. It is overdue for an update. Some rooms have cooking facilities. The tv's pick up 3 local stations and there are no phones in the rooms. To be fair, I understand that the new owners are in the process of slowly updating the motel.

It is definitely one of the most economical places to stay in Waterton.

Unique Quality: Update Feb 2011: A close friend of mine spent a few days at the Bear Mountain Motel during the summer of 2010. She has advised me that they had no complaints about the place - the beds were new, the paint was new and it was very clean.... she said they will definitely stay there again.
