Gateway to the Canadian Rockies
"Stopping point on the way to Banff"
A Fun Road trip is to drive from Vancouver to Kamloops thru the Canadian Rockies east to Calgary, and north to Edmonton.
I did this returning back thru West Glacier National Park, in Montana, thru Kalispell into Spokane and back to Seatle International Airport.
My day in Kamloops was as special as any. It's a small city of around 60,000 inhabitants, but it's a great stop to stock up on goodies if you are on a roadtrip. There is a Costco there that I was quite happy to find, just off the main freeway that goes thru this city.
I arrived a few hours prior to sunset so drove up into the hills of the residential area of Kamloops so that I could take a picture of the wonderful valley that it is in.
