KIMBERLEY - BAVARIAN TOWN IN CANADA
"HIGHEST CITY IN CANADA!"
I didn't know this bit of information, but evidently it is the highest city in Canada, sitting at 1,120 metres above sea level.
Kimberley is known as a "classic mining town" of the Rockies region.
It was named in 1896 after the famous South African diamond mine, Kimberley.
1968.........And it became the Bavarian City of the Rockies.
There are plenty of cafes and shops, plus you can go hiking, camping,
golfing, and skiing in Winter.
Driving and wandering around the streets of Kimberley, we discovered that
this was another town of talented artists.
There were quite a few Murals done on the buildings.
Kimberley has a population in the 7,000's and is located on Highway 95A,
32 km northwest of Cranbrook in the BC Rockies.
