Port Hardy
Yelloweye Rockfish, Outside Port Hardy, B.C.
Hi there!
I am planning to spend a week in Vancouver Island in the Autumn, a few days in Victoria and a few days in Port Hardy and the parks near it. Could anyone tell me what is it like driving from Victoria to Port Hardy? How long does it take? Could also someone recommend a good hotel and restaurant in Port Hardy?
Thanks everybody!
I've never been to Port Hardy, so I can't make much of a recommendation. However, to drive there from Victoria is supposed to take about 7 and a half hours. It's 504 km/315 miles.
From Sayward north to Port Hardy the road passes through the Nimpkish Valley-it's boring as can be, not dangerously so just monochromatic second growth forest with little else to see.
As you approach Telegraph Cove the timber thins out significantly.
