 | Tofino Long Beach Lodge Resort Reviews | Tips 1 - 3 of 3 | | I was quite fortunate staying in Tofino during my December 2003 trip. My good friend was working here so I was able to visit her in the staff accommodation and make it my home base for the entire time that I stayed there. I was also able to tour around the rooms of the Long Beach Lodge resort, both the cabins and the rooms within the larger lodge.
The Long Beach Lodge resort is a really posh resort that has flavours of the rustic west coast. They have single cabins located inland, between groves of cedars, firs and hemlocks. They also have the lodge itself which acts more like a traditional hotel, with rooms facing onto the beach at Cox Bay. Located a 15 minute drive south of the town of Tofino, people stay at the Long Beach Lodge resort to get away from it all... to seclude themselves on a gorgeous beach overlooking the Pacific ocean. Their restaurant here is also top notch, serving the finest west coast seafood cuisine. I worked here for over a year, so I can attest to the high standards this place has for it's staff. You will get very good service here, at the desk, in the restaurant, and in the rooms (the rooms will vary in summer, as the staff has high turnover and a lot of people are being trained in summer, so sometimes they mess up). There are a few different styles of rooms - the ocean view is the nicest, obviously, and the most common. The "forest view" is the cheapest, but it's more of a parking lot view. The penthouse is exquisite, but very expensive (though not as much as the Wickininnish Inn), with glorious views of Cox Bay right from your bathtub. All the rooms have fridges, TVs, DVD players, comfy beds, bath, shower, amenities, chocolates, tea, coffee (and maker), and bottled water. Also, there are beautiful cabins that sleep 6-8 people. These have hot tubs, full kitchens, laundry, TV, DVD, 2 bathrooms, and 2 bedrooms.
The views are beautiful if you have an ocean view. The rooms are beautifully decorated - very understated and indicative of the area. Leave a Comment

The Longbeach campground has some nice spots to pitch a tent. There is enough distance and trees between the sites that you don't have to see you neighbors. The price was $25/ a site. The negative thing about this site is a rule that the entrance is locked shut at 11pm...no exceptions. This may be a gaint inconvience if you miss a ferry coming over from the mainland and arrive late.
Long beach campgorund is the only campsite that I have ever been to that has it's own landing strip. The areas Airport is on site. Also in the campground is a golf course, driving range and a golf pro-shop. Leave a Comment
