Vancouvers Cheapest Accomodation

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on March 4, 2011

When I arrived at American Backpackers, I was helped up the stairs with my bags by the other guests. There is a really friendly atmosphere here, and its like everyone are good friends. One thing I like about this place is that the staff are usually people who have stayed here before, so they can empathize with any concerns a guest has. The hostel has all the essentials;laundry, bathrooms, internet access. This place is 2.5 times less expensive than any other hostel I know of in the city, and its as good as the best of them. It is also in a prime location. I can't recomend this place enough.

Unique Quality: There is a great view of North Vancouver from the roof. Its location is also ideal, 2 minutes from Granville Street.

Directions: When walking westbound on West Pender Street, its at the end of the block, on the right hand side.

cheapest downtown accomodation

i like to call it the ghetto, cdn$10 per night or cdn$60 per week, i met some really good people here, and the money you save you can spend at any one of numerous bars just blocks away

Unique Quality: right in downtown, kitchen, smoking allowed

Directions: downtown

The American Backpackers Hostel is true a gem found in the downtown heart of Vancouver City, Located on the corner of West Pender and Homer, its convenient location is ideal, with food & shops everywhere, easy access to transportation, and as a plus the famous Amsterdam Cafe is just a stones through away.

The hostel itself is anything but dull, with people of all ages coming and going constantly there is never a shortage of personalities. It's more of a home than a hostel, whether you are there for a couple days or a couple of months, you will be welcomed like an old friend.

You will not find a cheaper place in Vancouver.
