Best Western - Chateau Granville

We were on the 14th floor, and had to open the sliding door to get fresh air. While not overtly smelling bad there was an underlying smell of some sort. Turning on the fan and or the ac made it worse.

So with the sliding door open all the noise from the street came up and kept us awake all night long....the police had blocked off Granville on Friday & Saturday night and groups of people were singing, yelling and carrying on until 4-5 am. When we mentioned it to the desk, he just laughed and blamed in on the people from Seattle who come up to drink.

Won't go back, ever.

Not too shabby hotel. Price was great in the offseason. Only thing you have to aware of is this end of Granville St. have the Adult shops but reasonably safe.
Good for walking around the city.

Unique Quality: Lots of restaurnats nearby, pubs, shopping etc.

A GREAT LOCATION IN DOWNTOWN VANCOUVER

Hans and I prearranged this hotel as we did not want to be looking for a place to stay when we got there. The BEST WESTERN CHATEAU GRANVILLE was an excellent choice. We were right in the heart of Downtown Vancouver and within walking distance of the Harbour. We stayed for four nights.

Unique Quality: Since we were on the 10th floor we had a great view of the city and we could watch the hustle-bustle of a busy city right below us. Our room was fair size with a queen size bed & bathroom. The staff in the lobby were friendly, helpful & informative. Our prearranged price was $99.00 plus tax per night, plus $7.00 per day parking fee.

WONDERFUL WEEKEND IN VANCOUVER

by LoriPori about BEST WESTERN CHATEAU GRANVILLE

Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday, May29, 30,31 & June 1, Hans and I were in Vancouver and stayed at the BEST WESTERN CHATEAU GRANVILLE. Since we did not want to worry about finding a place when we got there, we made reservations ahead of time. It turned out to be an excellent choice, as we were right downtown Vancouver, close to shops, restaurants, the Harbour and to our friends' condo, two blocks away in the Harbour District Our room was a good size, with a queen size bed and bathroom. Since we were on the 10th floor, we had a good view of downtown Vancouver and the hustle & bustle of a busy city. The Lobby staff were friendly, courteous and helpful with our questions. Our prearranged price was $99.00 per night plus taxes, plus $7.00 per day for parking.

hi me and my wife will be coming to vancouver for 2 weeks in august could any one give me info on either howard johnson hotel or bosmans hotel i.e. location quality shopping etc also is there enough for us to do for 2 weeks, would we be better to have 1 week in vancouver and 1 week somewhere else

Howard Johnsons is a renovated hotel in the downtown area. Have heard that it is not that nice. Bosman's is ok, but you could do better. Check with Ramada, they have a hotel across the street from the Howard Johnson's,there is also a Ramada on Pender St. and they are much nicer, would suggest the one on Pender St over the one across from the Howard Johnson's on Granvlle. There is also a Best Western located on Granville at Drake which is fairly new, not the Best Western Chateau Granville. Also you might consider the Days Inn in downtown on Pender St, it is very well located and in a quite area, but very near all the shops and waterfront. There is also a Courtyard by Marriott in the same area, Hornby near Davie St, and one other suggestion would be the Sandman, on Georgia St. Two weeks is too much time to spend in Vancouver. You could spend 5 or 6 days and see it all. There are however day trips which one could take. Whistler, Victoria, each of these is worth an overnight. Welcome to Vancouver, and have a great holiday here. If you need any other advice email me. Happy to help

I think 2 weeks would be a little too long (depends on your interests). A couple of days of shopping would probably be enough then maybe 4 or 5 more to see the sights around the city would be good. Although, if you are into hiking and other outdoor activities there is enough to keep you busy for a few months.

You may find the clientele at Bosmans a bit too late night for you. I agree with The Days Inn on Pender. Also look at The Best Western Sands on Davie www.rpbhotels.com
5-6 days should suffice in Vancouver as suggested. If you like golf, have a look at The Falls http://www.thefalls.bc.ca

A: "You could try Alegiant Air. They fly out of Bellingham and they are very reasonably priced. I think they fly nonstop to Oakland or San Francisco."
