Effusive Welcome by the Staff

Alison at the front desk greeted with the effusiveness common to the natives of Maritimes provinces. She gave me a nice room with a view of the water with all the conveniences. Every one was friendly and helpful at the hotel.

Unique Quality: Ivory who works as an operator when you ask for help was very helpful whenever i wanted something.
the doormen and concierge were eager to help you
all in all a very helpful staff and a comfortable hotel and well located in the centre of town. you can walk everywhere in the downtown area..

Room's are like mini-suites

Highly recommend this hotel. After a night in Gastown, you can crawl back to your hotel. Rooms smells nice, clean, and properly maintained. The staff are awesome, very friendly. Parking is a pain, you pay $20-$30 a night, but that's to be expected in this area. Very nice location and close to a lot of stuff. Definitely a four-star hotel.

Downtown Vancouver

The hotel is located downtown, 30 minutes from the airport (+/- 30 CAD in taxi). It is close to all offices and major attractions of the city. large access to transport and tourist tours.
The rooms are great, you have a real suite for the price of a common bedroom. my bed was in the corner, with two window walls, a great view on the city.
You have a second room, with a sitting room and a desk.

Unique Quality: I had difficulties to ave breakfast. Two days in a row, I was waiting to be seated. It was too long before the employee could mind me. So, I could just cross the street and have a breakfast in the Starbuck.
Nonwithstanding my breakfast problem, my stay at Delta is great and I will go back again.

The Delta Pinnacle Hotel

The Delta Pinnacle Hotel
Oops, I previously published an incorrect price. My mother and friends were staying here but got a great deal through a friend. I have seen it advertised as $360 a night for a double. You technically could sneak four people in there, but don't let them catch you. Although if you are at a hotel like this, I don't imagine you skimp out on stuff like that.

Unique Quality: Its a new, classy hotel. Not for the budget traveller but it has a great view right over the ocean, is in a prime location (walking distance from everything downtown) and the service is good.

Delta - The Extras Put It Over The Top

by TripAdvisor Member MrDVMP

My wife and I stayed at the Delta Vancouver Suites Hotel on a mid-May Saturday night prior to leaving on an Alaska cruise. We highly recommend this hotel. We picked the Delta because it was close to the airport and offered a free shuttle. The airport shuttle was easy to find and arrived just as we got to the shuttle stand. The driver was very helpful with our large amount of luggage. Check in was a snap and the courteous desk staff was extremely helpful.

We stayed in a standard room with a river view. The room was not amazing but certainly adequate sized, well-appointed, very clean, quiet and lived up to our expectations. We had a late dinner at the Elephant and Castle adjacent to the hotel and, there too, we had good service and an excellent meal (my wife adored the apple-butternut squash soup and I loved the fish and chips). The next morning we had breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant. We skipped the buffet and ordered off the menu. The service was slow, but the food was excellent (try the stuffed French Toast).

The gift shop in the hotel was open late. The concierge was very helpful in giving us options to get to the dock. The cab ride to the pier was about $30.

Big city hotel with a family-run feeling

by TripAdvisor Member YVR_guestservices

I just stayed 10 days at the Delta Vancouver Suites and loved the experience. It's not Vancouver's biggest hotel, and that's a good thing - the feeling is very warm, friendly and intimate. There's always a friendly greeting when you arrive back and personally, I like the fact they welcome pets - even if you're not travelling with your own, it makes the hotel cozier just seeing them in the lobby. The all-suite rooms are big and decorated in soft, stylish modern colours - I was in a corner room (1809)on a high floor with floor-to-ceiling windows and it was very very comfortable - one of the concierge staff said these are their best regular rooms. The Manhattan restaurant is a find; absolutely not the typical hotel restaurant with some interesting takes on familiar favourites and very stylish presentation. Same with the room-service menu - you can even order Kraft macaroni and cheese for the kids! If you are planning a conference, the adjacent Wosk Centre for Dialogue - entered directly from the hotel lobby - is mighty impressive with a magnificent United Nations-style main hall with translation services. They are so proud of their housekeeping they offer a guarantee that if they overlook any detail in your room, that night is free! And I have to say in my time there it didn't happen once. Speaking of housekeeping, some of the reviews of this hotel mentioned the worn carpets and while I was there they had just begun replacing all of them as well as providing new bedding and better mattresses. I'd say this would be a great choice for business travellers but also for cruise passengers since it's just a couple of blocks from the Canada Place terminal.

One of the best hotels I've visited

by A TripAdvisor Member

I was thrilled by the Delta Suites in Vancouver!

Gorgeous views of the city, huge spacious rooms, great bathroom amenities, free high speed Internet, amazing location by both business center and the gaslight district (great for nightlife and cafe culture)... I was exceptionally comfortable for my 4 night stay.

I travel a lot, and am happy to say this is one of the most comfortable, enjoyable hotels I have stayed out.

And I would also add-- I found it to be a tremendous value. My room was $180 Canadian.

Good Value + Great Service = Excellent Vacation

by TripAdvisor Member tuffy

The best part of this hotel is the service. From the bellman to the receptionist to the concierge and the bartender - all of the employees that we encountered were exceptionally helpful and professional. We've stayed in many hotels in several cities/countries and feel Delta Suites deserves 5 stars for the great staff alone.
The location of this hotel made for an easy walk to Gastown, Canada Place and the waterfront areas even with a toddler in a stroller. It wasn't far from Chinatown but we wouldn't recommend walking to there. Because it was on the end of the "good" part of town, we did see some unfortunate sights - especially on E Hastings. Just don't walk or drive that way. We took a cab. Aside from that, it was easy to catch the skytrain, seabus and any other mode of transportation from this hotel.
The rooms were another story - for a family of 5, I would not have booked a one bedroom suite. The person who helped me through their reservations center (not the hotel itself) said it was roomy enough but we found it to be too small (but well appointed). Fortunately, we were out most of the time and returned to the room just to sleep/rest. I would book two adjoining rooms next time.
The indoor pool was adequate and my husband liked the sauna and whrlpool. But it isn't a resort so don't expect much.
The restaurant was excellent albeit a bit pricey. When my husband and I wanted a little couple time, we opted to go to Spencer's Lounge where we ordered local beer and the chicken club sandwich (excellent.)
When we do return to Vancouver, we will consider Delta Suites again. It depends on the type of vacation you have planned. If you want to experience downtown and North Vancouver, its a great economical choice. But you'll feel like you spent a lot more because of the great service and accomodations.

Pay the extra $50 a night and stay at the Fairmont or Four Seasons on your next trip to Vancouver. We made the mistake of trying to save some coin and booked a weekend in Vancouver staying here.

Everything was going ok till the fire alarm went off at 4am on Friday night. It continued to go off for about 15 minutes (a sound I never want to hear again) until a very hesitant and un-confident hotel staff member came over the intercom and said that all hotel guests needed to calmly exit the building via the stairs (we were on the 20th floor). I thought I was having a bad dream so we slowly put on some clothes and made our way down the 20 flights of stairs with the other guests. Finally we made it to the street only to sit outside another 20 minutes as NO hotel staff was present or to be found for that matter. No one new what to do, if it was ok to go back to our rooms, or anything. Hotel guests were in a state of disarray everyone asking each other what to do. Finally we on our own decided to go back up the fire escape stairs and made it back to our rooms (20 flights up). We were never told what happened.

I know things like this happen but my concern is with the professionality of the staff. It seemed like they didn't know what was going on. Was it really necessary to evacuate the building? Most likely not but the staff on hand did not know what to do. MY POINT is that this type of thing would not have happened at the Fairmont or Fourseasons unless there actually had been a real emergency.

Oh ya pay perview was broken to.
