is whale watching from vancouver seasonal?
Will you be able to see any whales during July?
Whale Watching Season - April 1 to October 31
So yes you can go in July
Hi, whale watching is seasonal - starting at the end/mid of April until the end of october.
So July should be a good time!
We were in Alaska last year end-of-July and we had very satisfying experience watching hump-back whales. From what I was told, Orca whales are very actively visible off Victoria BC and Seattle coasts for extended periods at the same time.
I hope this helps
In fact....Grey whales are seasonal...but its not usual to see them between the mainland and Vancouver Island..you'll see them normaly on the West Coast of vancouver Island...Greys migrate from calving grounds in and around Baja California to feeding areas in Northern waters of Alaska..
There are RESIDENT pods of Orca that you will likely be seeing taking a tour out of Vancouver..They are around all year round...they move around but chances are excellent that you will see them.
Have fun in BC!!
Hi Dieter...actually there's a few operations that run out of Granville Island in Vancouver Metro...You're absolutely correct though...Victoria and Tofino and Uclulet are THE spots to catch whale watching tours from..
Vancouver Island has awesome whale watching. If your planning on going, you should go with Viking Adventure Tours. Their very experienced and know the good spots. Great price too. Heres their website. www.vikingadventuretours.com

Of course, visit the downtown area! I was so enthralled with the aura that I didn't take many photos in downtown. Rather, I was enjoying myself just walking around.
In any case, downtown Vancouver is quite small. A peninsula cut off from the rest of the city by False Creek. Robson Square & some 3-blocks complex of offices, shops & theatres made up the whole downtown area.
Most residents stay in the Greater Vancouver area of Burnaby, Coquitlam & Richmond.
QUEEN ELIZABETH PARK: A 52-hectare park between Cambie & Ontario Streets. Vancouver's 2nd largest park. This is it's well designed sunken garden.
You must take a ferry boat ride over to Victoria. You drive your car onto a modern, cruise-like ferry and watch the beautiful scenery go by. First stop must be Buchart Gardens. It's a little expensive, but very impressive. Then check out downtown and have high tea at the Empress hotel before you catch the ferry back again. On a hike down to a lake in Garibaldi national park, we stopped to watch a mother bear and cub as they hunted for food. We waited cautiously until they were gone. Then went down a rain forest path to a beautiful mirror-like lake. I think about it whenever I get really pressured at work. I can still remember that dusky, earthy, clean smell deep in the woods.
This is, of course, only for flower lovers, which my brother isn't, so he probably wouldn't recommend Butchart gardens as highly as I do. I enjoy flowers, and being an amateur photographer, found plenty to enjoy there. As I was reminded by a fellow vtourist member, I should mention that Butchart Gardens aren't in Vancouver but on Vancouver Island. I liked the island better personally; it felt less crowded.
As i never had sky before, when i go there i look for a place to go to sky, and i found MOUNTSEYMOR!!!
Whas a really great experience!!!
