Nice and Elegant
The hotel is in Downtown Vancouver. Very close to Vancouver Museum, Chinatown, and the known Robson Street. Our room was nice and was able to accomodate my family (3 young children).
Unique Quality: Has Laundry Room, Game Room, Business Center and Indoor Pool.

A Good Central Hotel
Although a fairly typical bog-standard North American business/leisure 5-star hotel, the Pinnacle did tick all the boxes and it does have a good location. Our view was all right, if not spectacular, parking was easy, the breakfasts were excellent, and the rooms large. We were able to easily walk to anywhere in the West End and to Stanley Park. I don't remember hearing any noise from the hallway or other rooms.
We had once stayed at the Fairmont at the waterfront and, over-all, I think that was a better hotel, but the Pinnacle's location would make me choose it the next time.

Helpfulness
Another Great Downtown Hotel
Directly across the street from another Marriott hotel we originally went to the wrong one! The staff was excellant and the pool was great. Unlike the renaissance hotel across the road, the residence inn did not have staff dedicated to tourist info but like most hotels had a desk full of pamphlets for local attractions. Parking was an additional cost ontop of the hotel bill and was fairly expensive if memory serves.

...fantastic deal... if you can get it.
We stayed at this hotel for one night in May 2004, post cruise. What we particularly liked was this hotel's nearness to everything. It is close enough to Canada Place, where the cruise ships dock, that you can walk to it, and we did. It is within a short walking distance of the Gaslamp district and Chinatown, we also walked to them. It is within a short walking distance to Stanley Park and all the great restaurants, shopping and people watching around the Bidwell Street area (of course we walked to all these places also). There is a Hertz car rental kiosk in the hotel across the street and so we picked up our rental car there when we left for Seattle the next afternoon. There is also a fantastic coffee cafe just around the corner from this hotel where thay do some very impressive latte art, not to be missed if you are a coffee geek. I wish I could remember the name. Our room was very nice with a great view of Canada Place, our cruise ship and the harbor. Staff was courteous but very busy as the hotel was quite full. There is a gym room and indoor pool. If you can get get this for about $60/night through Priceline, as we did, it is truly a bargain for a AAA 4 star rated hotel.
Unique Quality: Close to everything.

A Nice Place to Stay
This hotel was recently converted to a Marriott property - it used to be a Delta Hotel.
It's clean, nice, and close to the shopping district.
They didn't have high-speed internet access in the rooms yet, but they do let you connect your laptop for free in the business center.
The front desk staff was outstanding. Great service and very courteous and complete explainations about how to get around in the hotel. Very nice and very clean rooms. Providing wine glasses as well as water glasses was an appreciated touch. Instructions for using the parking passes could be clearer and beter labled for the hotel guests. Maybe the front desk people could help them out as to how to make that easier for the first time user.
Very disappointing.

Stayed her for two nights mid April 2004.Had high expectations as the hotel had very good reviews. But was throughly disappointed.First off we arrived at the hotel at 5pm and expected our room to be ready, well it wasn't.The lady at check-in gave us a coupon for a free drink(juice or soda only) and told us to wait in the bar and when our room was ready she would come get us. Told us it wouldn't be longer than 15 minutes. After waiting for 45 minutes we finally went to the front desk and she said "Oops I forgot".Upon check-in we were asked if we wanted to upgrade for $40 cdn. We were told our room would be corner room with partial harbor views so we agreed. We had paid $100 US on expedia for a city view room, and welcomed the upgrade. The room was lovely, but there was no soap. We called down and asked from some to be brought up. Well, it took over 40 minutes but finally it arrived. So part of our appeal of upgrading to the concierge level was every evening they serve hors d'oeuvre and in the morning some sort of buffet breakfast. Well, turns out that it is only during the week but we were staying on a weekend. But we weren't told this when we checked in. We called the front desk and complained and we were told they would give us a continental breakfast voucher(waited over 40 minutes again but it never came so we went out for the day). It finally did arrive but the voucher was only for pastries and nothing else.Valet parking was an additional $25 cdn per day. No complaints there, car was always ready when we came down. Door Staff was extremely friendly. Cant say thats true for the other hotel staff.Would I stay here again? I doubt it.
