I stayed here with a group of female friends recently. The hotel was very clean and the reception staff were helpful. The main problem with this hotel was it's location. It's a short walk to the main area of Robson Street during the day but none of us felt safe walking back at night. There weren't very many people around and after the Art Gallery it wasn't very well lit. We could also see a lot of homless people down the side alleys which I know shouldn't be a problem but there were so many it was intimidating.
We ate at the hotel restaurant - Rosie's - one night and the food was awful. I had a burger and it arrived with hardly any salad (and what there was looked mauled) and the burger was dry and flavorless. The waitresses were also very rude which was a shame because the other staff were so good. I also noticed how rude they were to families with children (who you would have though would be the main customers for hotels like this). The families were made to sit at seperate tables right by the door and the kitchens because of the laws about alcohol in Canada - you would have though the hotel could have made a sepereate area for them not just hid them in a corner.
The other problem we had was the room layout. 4 of us went and we chose the 2-bedroom suite so none of us had to share a bed for a fortnight. The layout was meant 2 be a double, a twin and a sofa bed in the living room but none of us could sleep on the sofa bed because the fridge made such a loud noise so 2 of us had to share the double. Couldn't they at least get quieter fridges?! Theme: HotelComparison: about average
