Helpfulness
Good value at The Rosedale on Robson, Vancouver.
Good value for what we paid for our suite. There was plenty of room and more importantly everything was nice and clean. It was nice to have a lounge area to relax in plus there were cooking facilities, if you should need them. All staff were helpful and friendly. We used the restaurant one night and for our breakfast on the day of departure - all good. The pool is quite small but doesn't seem to get used much so it's not a problem and there is also a small gym. There are several vending machines + free ice which we found useful.
Unique Quality: The location is pretty good and right in the middle of it all. We went everywhere on foot or on the metro as it was so easy. The hire car didn't move for 4 days until it was time to go to the airport!!! The hotel did sometimes seem quite busy at check in etc. and you sometimes had to wait a couple of minutes for a lift but not long enough to be a real problem.
I have seen a couple of negative reviews for The Rosedale on Robson but we found it to be O.K. We would definitely consider staying there again if we ever return to Vancouver.

No One Should Stay Here!
This hotel is more like a motel with out-dated cluttered furniture and rooms, worthless stove/oven, old nasty shower curtains, and a heater that comes on every 5 min while your trying to sleep and rattles. The only difference is I think a motel has better customer service and etiquette than this "luxury suite" hotel. There is absolutely nothing luxurious about it, and the rooms shouldn't even be in the standard category. The staff are rude and not courteous at all. We had housekeeping knocking at our door very early in the morning asking when were leaving so they could clean. They SCAMMED us hundreds of dollars since someone over charged the credit card after we paid for the room, and no one had the audacity to tell us even as it was going on right behind their computer and in front of our faces. We found out on our own once arriving back in the US, and spent hours with this ordeal which totally ruined our vacation. Also, the food sucked at the adjoining restaurant. Don't patronize this hotel, otherwise you might be scammed too.

Not for Women Travellers
I stayed here with a group of female friends recently. The hotel was very clean and the reception staff were helpful. The main problem with this hotel was it's location. It's a short walk to the main area of Robson Street during the day but none of us felt safe walking back at night. There weren't very many people around and after the Art Gallery it wasn't very well lit. We could also see a lot of homless people down the side alleys which I know shouldn't be a problem but there were so many it was intimidating.
We ate at the hotel restaurant - Rosie's - one night and the food was awful. I had a burger and it arrived with hardly any salad (and what there was looked mauled) and the burger was dry and flavorless. The waitresses were also very rude which was a shame because the other staff were so good. I also noticed how rude they were to families with children (who you would have though would be the main customers for hotels like this). The families were made to sit at seperate tables right by the door and the kitchens because of the laws about alcohol in Canada - you would have though the hotel could have made a sepereate area for them not just hid them in a corner.
The other problem we had was the room layout. 4 of us went and we chose the 2-bedroom suite so none of us had to share a bed for a fortnight. The layout was meant 2 be a double, a twin and a sofa bed in the living room but none of us could sleep on the sofa bed because the fridge made such a loud noise so 2 of us had to share the double. Couldn't they at least get quieter fridges?!
my stay was short, only one night but it shined in it's warm and safe atmosphere. With a convienient location,a few minutes from many Vancouver highlights, the hotel has a laundry room for all your needs, polite staff, and a room with a shower,tv etc plus a fully fitted cooking area sink plates etc for those who fancy self catering,it was a really cool room I couldn't fault it. Downstairs the resturant caters for everyone in a pleasant atmosphere, looking out on to the city outside going by. The rooms are typically split in two by a divideing door, bed on one side,tv, wc,cooking area the other. I have only once before ever stayed in a hotel that permit cooking in their rooms,a nice touch.
I'm Fussy and it was good

The service at the Rosedale was excellent from the time we arrived to the time we left. I am a fussy person when it comes to accomodation, and our room was of a high standard. We were on the 19th floor that overlooked the city and included a mini kitchen. We added another person to our stay when we arrived at Vancouver and we weren't charged anything extra for this person. The staff were very punctual to our requirements and the staff at the bistro downstairs were very friendly. If we go back to Vancouver we will stay there again.
brilliant hotel, friendly staff and great location

I stayed here with my partner and my 20 month old child for 3 nights at the begining of may and found the Rosedale on Robson to be absolutely gorgeous. Really friendly staff that upgraded us to a family room for free, and made us feel really welcome. the restaurant "Rosies" was absolutely wonderful too, we went there for breakfast and dinner a few times and would recommend it to anyone. the room was really nice and had a little kitchenette which came in handy as we had a child travelling with us. i would definitely stay here again, when visiting vancouver.
All I could have asked for ... and more

I selected the Rosedale based on recommendations from this website, and we were not disappointed. After 21 hours flying, we were jetlagged and desperate for a rest. We arrived early and our rooms weren't yet cleaned, but the hotel pulled out all the stops and gave us top priority, having them ready for us before official check-in time.
Our rooms (there were 4 of us in two rooms) were large, very clean, and furnished with everything you could ask for. Staff were friendly and more than happy to help any way they could. Rosie's (the attached pub) was perfect for a quiet drink and an evening meal, and certainly reasonably priced.
The Rosedale is well situated and within easy walking distance of the CBD shops, as well as Yaletown and the Aquabus to Granville Island. There are numerous cafes, restaurants, coffee shops and two 7-11s within a half mile radius.
We stayed there on two separate occasions during our trip, both before and after our cruise. I can recommend it without hesitation as a good value place to stay in comfort.
Pleasantly Surprised - Would Refer to Others

After finishing a tour through Canada we were pleasantly surprised with the facilities in the room. The room was large and it was great to have a separate lounge and a kitchenette. We found the room very quiet and with dark curtains if you needed a sleep in. Location we thought was great right on Robson St the main shopping street. They have a laundry quite cheap on every 2nd floor which is very handy. There is also a mini deli right next door to the Hotel so you can grab some items and make your own breaky in your room etc. gives you an option. The Hotel on the ground floor also had free internet at certain times which was a bonus. The airconditioner in our room worked really well and we could adjust the temperature. There was also a fan in the bathroom which we noticed a lot of other Hotels didn't have. Rosies the restaurant in the hotel is great and would recommend a meal there. Good value for money.
Disappointed in the Rosedale

We booked this hotel because it stated that the suites slept 4 with a separate bedroom and a pullout sofa bed. We were travelling with my sister and her husband. The sofa bed was terrible. I had to sleep on the floor and my husband went to the car to sleep. We asked for another room the next day and they changed us to a room with 2 double beds in one room and the very same sofa bed. I think it's time to get new hide-a-beds - they are not fit for anyone (child or adult to sleep in).
The service in the restaurant was very poor. The location of the hotel is great but definitely needs improvement when it comes to the rooms and service.
The location is pretty good and right in the middle of it all. We went everywhere on foot or on the metro as it was so easy.
