Hotel felt like our own apartment in Vancouver

We stayed in Vancouver for 1 month in November. The hotel looks like a condo from the outside and the room we had was a full apartment with a bigger kitchen than we have at home! It was completed outfitted with all the kitchen and living tools that you need. All we had to do was go to the large supermarket right across the street and buy groceries.
There are so many great restaurants right outside the door that it was sometimes hard to stay in and cook, although we did buy some fresh seafood and cook on the BBQ they have set up on the rooftop. It was amazing, it had a view of the sailboats near Stanley Park from the roof and we rarely encountered anyone else using the BBQ. We would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Vancouver due to the location, cleanliness and the convenience of having a full apartment set up.

Unique Quality: Included a membership to a full gym 4 blocks away.

Hotel staff were amazing and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed including maid service 2 times per week and more often if we wanted it.

We walked everywhere, it is 1 block from Stanley Park and a 10-15 minute walk to the heart of downtown.

We really felt like we lived in Vancouver!

Westend Lifestyle

This isn’t quite a hotel as it’s made up of fully furnished apartments intended for monthly rentals. I understand that shorter terms (weekly rentals) are also available. It has a wonderful location at the corner of Denman and Robson. The Denman stores/restaurants are open into the evening and there are always people along the sidewalks making this neighborhood feel alive and interesting. Conveniently, there is a large grocery store (Safeway) just across the corner for those who wish to prepare their own meals.

Unique Quality: Finding a quiet room can be a bit of a challenge. The building is four stories tall in the shape of an “L”. The ground floor is used by restaurants and other businesses. A colleague told me that the rooms facing Denman Street can be quite noisy well into the night. Another colleague preferred a room looking out onto Robson street (the street is residential at the point). Me I preferred rooms that looked out on to the back instead of onto the roads. My first room was on the top floor on the Denman wing. Unfortunately, there was a fan on the roof that vibrated all night making it sound like a helicopter was landing. I switched to a room on the second floor looking out on the back and was quite content for the year that I lived there.

There’s a bar-b-q pit on the roof that can be used by any of the residences. There are no fitness facilities on site, but they have an arrangement with Denman Fitness (10 minutes walk) to use their extensive facilities.

More about Times Square Suites Hotel

Fantastic!

by TripAdvisor Member Browning

We just got back from our first visit to Times Square Suites. It was more than I expected. We have friends in Vancouver and wanted a bit of extra space, in downtown Vancouver, to visit with them before going out for the evening. This was the perfect spot. Located right downtown and with plenty of room, we were able to visit and then head out with no worries and, because of the central location, didn't have to spend much on cab fare! The staff were very helpful (although you really don't need them too much!) and the apartment was clean, bright and welcoming. We are already planning our next trip to this place!

All the amenities of home

by A TripAdvisor Member

We stayed at the Time Square Suites for 3 nights Mar. 20-23, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. My husband and I were travelling with our 10 month old, and this hotel provided everything we needed for her, including a crib (which was an actual crib rather than just a playpen which is what most hotels provide, in our experience) a highchair, full kitchen, and DVD player (available to borrow from the front desk). The location is excellent. We walked to the aquarium in Stanley Park, the Robson Street shopping district, and even to where you can catch a ferry to Granville Island. It was so nice to stay in such a spacious, clean room with all the amenities of home. The one and only negative thing we have to say is that there was quite a bit of noise from the street at night. Because our daughter goes to bed early, we asked to move to a room on the other side of the hotel after the first night and this was done with no problem at all. So if noise is a concern I would recommend asking for a room on the opposite side from Robson Street. Other than that everything was lovely, including the lattes at Bojangles downstairs!

Felt like I lived in Vancouver!

We were impressed!
Stayed 2 nights with wife and 2 teenaged boys.

Had large 2BR suite and it was fantastic!
Plenty of room , great kitchen, nice bathroom, washer-dryer, dishwasher, 2 TV's.
No views to speak of, and a little noise from morning trash pick up in back, but it just added to the charm of living in a big city!
Location of hotel is super. Could walk anywhere downtown. We rented bikes one block from hotel and took 2 hour ride through Stanley Park right before dark. Lovely views!
Take bus to Granville Island!
Neat place to shop, eat, explore.

Roof Top Patio was a great place to unwind!
They even have a gas grill to use for BBQ!

Safeway across street was very handy, and the Robson Public Market was a great place for groceries, flowers, etc.

Vancouver is a wonderful city, and Times Square Suites is a great place to stay!

Email me with any questions.

Great Location

by A TripAdvisor Member

Just returned from 3 weeks in Canada with a 4 night stay at Times Square with our 2 yr old daughter. suites are very clean and include a neat kitchen which suited our 2yr old for family meals ( there is a safeway only 50m across the road). This is a great location as it is walking distance from Stanley park and in a quiet part of the city. Robson st shops are great and we intend to return in the future!

Great place to stay

by TripAdvisor Member samanic

We have just recently returned from a visit to Vancouver and having read such favourable reviews, stayed at Times Suites. We were not disappointed. Everything was as previously mentioned - situation was great, the accommodation spotlessly clean and comfortable and the staff most helpful. We thoroughly recomend Times Suites as a great base in Vancouver.

Fully satisfactory

by TripAdvisor Member kawaguy

We wanted a change from the chain hotels, and this was it. Not a great fit with our needs, but what a location! We found it easily, parked in front while we registered, got in hassle-free, parked the car just fine.

Our suite was spacious and very clean, with high-quality fixtures. We didn't need the washer & dryer, kitchen, etc. but they were there. Very comfortable bed, good LR furniture, a TV-VCR-DVD-tape unit.

The room was a bit muggy, as hotel rooms so often are. When we arrived, the air conditioner was on in the bedroom, and the fan running in the living room - this on a cool but damp day.

If you like a full-service hotel, leave now. They don' t even have a full-time front desk. The office is on the third floor, and there is no lobby, no restaurant, no valet parking, .... this is a place to stay, that's all it does, and it does it well.

Now if you want to go for a walk, hoo-ha, you're in the right place. Coffee, gelati, restaurants are all right there. And the fabulous views of English Bay are just the right distance away when you've seen enough storefronts.

Walk a bit more in the other direction and you're in Stanley Park, which is as good as parks get.

The hotel even sent us a thank-you email afterward.

It isn't inexpensive, but as far as I could tell it costs no more than the alternatives nearby. You are, after all, in a prime part of a world-class tourist city.

I'll stay there again on some of my visits. Other times I'll use the Holiday Inn Express, save a few bucks, and enjoy it less.

Amazing place

We stayed at Times Square Suites for 9 days in May. We had read all the good reviews on Tripadvisor, and we have to agree, the place is great !

It was our first trip to Canada, and I don't think we could have chosen a better city and place to stay. Vancouver is the most beautiful city we have ever visited.

The Times Square Suites is located only a 5 minutes walk from beautiful Stanley Park. A great place for an early evening walk, and we saw black squirrels and racoons there.

There are plenty of restaurants and cafe's close by. A Safeway supermarket just across the street and a very good organic supermarket with many delicious things just a five minute walk on Robson Street.

We stayed in a standard one bedroom suite with a balcony. Our room was towards the street, but we did not experience too much noise from the street as some guests had described. We loved the lively atmosphere when we opened the balcony doors, and the view of the quiet street towards Stanley Park. Our room was perfect. A nice kitchen with everything you need, they even had two bottles of cold water ready for us. Nice when you arrived to the hotel hot and thirsty. A nice living area with tv, dvd and radio. There was a tv in the bedroom as well. Another wonderful thing was the ensuite washer and dryer. Staying there for 9 days, and have been visiting Seattle first, we were running our of clean clothes, so we were really happy being able to wash our clothes when we arrived. There is a package of Tide in the room when you arrive, and you can buy more in the reception for only 50 cent.

The reception staff is extremely friendly and helpful. A very sweet girl named Shannon was there in the evenings when we needed help, and she booked a trip for us to Whistler, Brandy Falls and Shannon Falls, which was a wonderful trip as well.

When we told we were on our honeymoon, a beautiful bouquet of flowers were put in our room, with a very sweet congratulation card as well. Such a nice and thoughtful thing to do.

We will defintely stay at Times Square Suites, next time we will be visiting Vancouver. The stay there made our honeymoon perfect.

it really is good

by TripAdvisor Member Scouser-Sue

We have stayed in Vancouver 6 times and either stayed in downtown hotels or heritage B&Bs (see O'Canada House) but having read previous reviews we decided to try Times Square Suites. The location is very good being about a 10min walk from the centre of Downtown, 5 mins from Coal Harbour marina, 10 mins from Canada Place Cruise ship terminal, 5 mins from Stanley Park and 10 mins from English Bay and its Aqua Bus service to Granville Island. You don't get much better than that.!

Ok. the suites are on a road junction (there are some rear ones overlooking a parking lot) but to be honest it was great to 'people watch' out of the windows . There was the odd car horn but nothing apart from chatter and less busy traffic after about 7pm. We slept really well. It was 30 degress while we were there and the air conditioning was so welcome.

The suite was extremely well equipped as others have described. The staff, extremely helpful, storing our luggage for a few hours. We had suite 201, a corner two bed. suite which I could have lived in ! The decorative condition is high, carpets are very clean and towels were new and plentiful. I can't fault the place.
