Five stars for Vancouver's Wedgewood Hotel

It's no small wonder Conde Nast Traveler named the Wedgewood Hotel one of top five best hotel bangs for the buck worldwide. Located just off Robson street, this charming hotel welcomes you with classic Canadian service-- attentive, accomodating, and friendly. Our room felt like a suite, with a large gleaming marble bathroom, a giant deep tub (inexplicably but sweetly situated in the corner of the bedroom), a box of delicious chocolates, and a plate of homemade cookies. The room was outfitted with casual British colonial decoration, with some country touches and all modern amenities (such as in-room high speed Internet Access). We have stayed in Vancouver's Four Seasons and two of the city's Fairmont Hotels, and there's no question but that we will stay at the Wedgewood for our next visit. It's simply the most luxusious--all the personality of a boutique hotel with the professionalism, services, and resources of a large hotel(including a little gym outfitted with a eucaplytus steam room).

Home away from home

Beautiful spacious luxury. These are the words appropiate for describing the Wedgewood hotel. It's worth every dime. Rent the one bedroom or the junior excutive suite. Customer service excells the fairmont. I have stayed at only the best hotels in my travels, and this one excels in every category.

Fabulous Hotel! Service was outstanding. I was greeted with smiles. The room was very clean and on the desk chocolates awaited me. The room service was terrific(had the halibut). Turn down service came by with cookies and water. The service was classy without being snooty. I've stayed in lots of hotels and by far, this is the best value I've ever experienced. The bed was so comfortable. Everything was clean and high quality. I had to pinch myself because the place was so fabulous! And, for a business traveler, they even have high-speed internet access.
What more is there?

Great Value for Ultra Comfy Hotel

This is a lovely boutique hotel in a great downtown location in Vancouver! Be sure to check their internet deals as that is where the value is. I was upgraded to a Jr. Suite and it was lovely. Very nice bathrooms and wonderful bed and bedding! We don't know what value we have in Canada until you compare the same product with the US. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Simply the best - just like home

Simply the best boutique hotel in Canada!! It made our highlights of BC travelling every time. We stayed here 4 times since 2001 during both winter and summer vacations. Every return visit was like coming home. Perfect location -- accessable to everthing yet situated in a quieter side of the downtown core. Attentive and personable service. The bar/lounge is the warmest/coziest place in town during winter and most relaxing side-walk bar in summer. Its restaurant is a must-try in Vancouver. Fresh ingredients and innovative preparations. It caters to both casual and formal occassions. The gym area can be improved -- but then we're here to indulge not to exercise. Prices are going up and the secret has been out. We just hope that we can still afford to continue to visit and that the hotel will not attract too big of a "monied", snobbish crowd.

felt luxurious

We enjoyed a very comfortable two nights at the Wedgewood. Since we got a very, very good price through the internet (not on the hotel's site), I was not surprised that our room was one of the older ones (maybe slightly outdated furniture, boring view) but it was by no means anything other than lovely, clean and spacious. There was a separate sitting room (with desk, couch, chairs, TV and coffee table) in addition to the bedroom and everything was extremely comfortable. The turndown service with cookies was great. We really enjoyed the sauna downstairs in the spa and the hotel's bar was a great place for people watching. In contrast to many hotel restaurants/bars, this one felt like a place that elegant locals actually enjoy because it is a beautiful room. I loved the hour or two we spent there (we didn't do dinner but just had dessert and drinks at a table in bar area), enjoyed the surroundings and sitting right next to the fireplace. All in all, I personally love a small elegant hotel and the Wedgewood certainly fit the bill. They were friendly and the hotel is in a great location.

As good as it gets

I stayed at the Wedgewood over the July 4 weekend and was very pleased. My room was spacious and thoughtfully appointed -- real hairdryer (not the kind that's attached to the wall), makeup mirror, nice toiletries, and comfortable bathrobe (not one of those that's too thick to wear). The staff was just right as well -- helpful and friendly, but not obstrusive. The location is convenient to Robson St. shopping and an easy walk to the Aquabus to Granville Island. I can't wait to go back!

Very Nice Hotel Downtown

We spent several nights at the Wedgewood Hotel in downtown Vancouver. The rooms are very nice and the service is excellent. It is in a very convenient location, walking distance to a myriad of shops and restaurants. It is part of the Relais and Chateau Group.

La Creme de La Creme

Our stay was wonderful. We arrived late at night and the staff was still friendly. The Wedgewood has an older feel with the decor, however, it is very tasteful and comfortable. The restaurant, Bacchus, is very good (Try the Limonata, very good!) and the service is excellent. The rooms are nice, we had a one-bedroom suite and it was very nice. A little smaller than in the pictures, but great nonetheless. The only detraction was the touted balonies, which we would have used, had we had a better view then a back alley and a wall. All in all, a very special hotel with affordable rooms and great service.

The Wedgewood Hotel

In January the price was right around $130 CAN per night and the valet parking was $10 which was a bargain because you can pick up your car or drop it off as often as you like. You cant beat the price of the room either when you compare the atmosphere and service with other hotels in the area.

Unique Quality: We loved this hotel! Its one of the oldest in Vancouver and is much more intimate than the high rise hotels. The decor is gorgeous and our room was so romantic. They have valet parking that is reasonably priced. The staff is very service oriented and if you look closely at the receptionists they are all wearing wedgewood broaches on their elegant uniforms.
