Does it get any better than this ?

Have you ever woken up in a strange place and felt totally relaxed ? The Abbeymoore Manor could be that place you’ve been looking for.

We stayed there for 4 days in May 2004 and loved it.

The B&B is located on Rockwell in a quiet and extremely green neighbourhood. It is right next to the Governors mansion with it’s gorgeous park. An ideal place to stroll through or sit down and read a book while surrounded by beautiful nature. It’s about a 20 minute walk to downtown Victoria (or 5 minutes by car).

The Abbeymoore Manor has huge luxurious rooms. A lazy afternoon on it’s porch is addictive. The house has a nice, old and cosy atmosphere.
Best feature : the Mega-King-size beds with up to 9 pillows.

Breakfast : your hosts will spoil you with something special every day.

We’re definitely going back when in Victoria.

Our Stay at Abbeymoore Manor B&B

by A TripAdvisor Member

We loved our stay at Abbeymoore and wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely stay there again if we decide to visit Vancouver Island and I would highly recommend this B&B to others. Ian and Anne were great hosts and made you feel welcome and they are both very personable people which I believe adds a special quality to Abbeymoore. We love being pampered and thoroughly enjoyed our room and the bed was wonderful (especially the sheets!) The breakfast was fabulous! Abbeymoore has a beautiful garden and is located in a beautiful neighborhood and I enjoyed walking through the grounds of the Lieutenant Governor's Mansion as well. In comparing it to another B&B we stayed at on this trip, the amenities were comparable, but we would pick this one over the other because of Ian and Anne and their staff.

Lovely people, place, food

Anne and Ian were absolutely lovely. Their Abbeymoore Manor is historic, elegant, comfortable, and relaxing. The Rockland neighborhood could not be more quiet. What's more, we were able to walk across the street to the Government House and hear a free swing band concert on the lawn, sharing our space with young families, older couples, amazing old trees and a rose garden. The Abbeymoore sitting room was great and the breakfasts hearty and refined. One of the nicest B & Bs we've stayed in over the years because of the overall good feel.
A true find in Victoria, B.C.!

Loved the Abbeymoore

by A TripAdvisor Member

We wanted to spend a few days in Victoria before our Alaska cruise. The Abbeymoore proved to be a delightful start to our vacation! Staying in the Penthouse Suite provided ample room for our family of four and was charming. The hosts were helpful in all areas. They booked a fishing excursion for us, and even prepared the salmon we caught upon our return. It was incredibly delicious, as were both of the breakfasts we enjoyed. This is a very professional, yet warm and charmingly-run B&B.

Beyond Exceptional

We found this B&B on trip advisor and could not resist trying it out. With all the great reveiws, we did not think we could miss. The reveiws did not lie. As a matter of fact, the reviews only scratch the surface of what a wonderful place this is. The inn is situated in the Rockland area right across from the Government House(Where the Royals stay when in Victoria), which the gardens are open from Sunrise to Sunset and is a great walk. I suggest taking a stroll down St. Charles street and seeing some of the fabulous old estates. Also the Craigdorroch Castle is only a few blocks away, it took me about a 5 minute walk. I suggest not renting a car, the walk to downtown is about 25-35 minutes (2km) and well worth it. Most in Victoria do walk everywhere. If weather is not nice, you can take a cab for about $6-7 Canadian dollars. We stayed in two rooms and could not ask for anything better. The view from the Penthouse is almost a 180 of the harbor. You can see the harbor from the front porch, when in good weather is a great place to sit. My husband and I used the porch and front room to read the paper in the morning and to have our afternoon tea (coffee, tea and snacks provided all day). The innkeepers, Ian and Ann, are the great. Their recommendations on where to eat was a never miss for us. Also, they arrange all of our acitivities for us, we just told them what we wanted to do and they did the rest. The rooms have CD Players, so bring some tunes. There is always music playing in the front room and newspapers each morning. There is a library of books if you forget to bring one for yourself. Also, some of the rooms have DVDs and VCRs, the innkeepers have movies for you to borrow, if for some reason you cannot find something to do in Victoria (which would be hard). Last, the food was very good. We gobbled up our breakfast each morning. There was always plenty. Victoria is a great place, but this Inn has made our first experience in Canada one of the best memories we have had. We will definately come back and send all of our friends.

Hosts are very helpful and courteous. Cute place, nice accommodations. Bed linens are impeccable. Breakfast is beautifully presented and delicious! Good location, but you will need a car. Pet friendly, which is great for many travelers!

Abbeymoore was lovely - can't wait to return!

We had such a lovely stay! The Abbeymoore was elegant and relaxing. Ian and Anne made sure our visit was most enjoyable - they went out of their way to provide great restaurant recommendations, sightseeing tips and even made reservations for us as well as provide a blanket for our picnic.

The location was great - we were minutes from downtown (by car), but enjoyed feeling like locals by staying in the neighborhood. There are several sights within walking distance from the B&B as well (Craigduroch Castle, gardens at the Government residence).

Their breakfasts were fabulous! We are already planning a return visit.

Excellent hosts and breakfast

by TripAdvisor Member TravelHoundDog

Ian and Anne (and Frankie the dog) were wonderful hosts and were very attentive to our needs... they always made sure our daughter had something to eat. We stayed for a week in one of the garden suites. We had a different breakfest menu every day and enjoyed them all. Ian and Anne were great in trying to meet our food preferences. The suite had a full kitchen, which was very convenient when traveling with a toddler. The beds/linens were very comfortable and the whirlpool tub was nice to have.

The Abbeymoore is in a nice, quiet neighborhood and is right next to the Government Building, which has a beautiful garden and an awesome view.

We would definitely stay at the Abbeymoore again.

A most memorable experience

by A TripAdvisor Member

We had the opportunity to stay at Abbeymore Manor in Victoria and have not enjoyed a B&B any more than this.
The owners of the inn, Anne and Ian are wonderful innkeepers, very welcoming, and went out of their way to help make our stay a pleasant and memorable experience.
The entire house is so tastefully decorated and each room had it's own style of decor and comfort.
We enjoyed the Master Bedroom which was a very large guest room overlooking the front garden with a patio stretching across the entire front of the house.
Each morning we were greeted with a hot gourmet breakfast that offered the best in home cooking.
The inn is located in an ideal central location and is an easy walk to either downtown Victoria or the wonderful community of Oak Bay.
We highly recommend Abbeymore Inn to anyone planning a trip to Victoria. It truly is a home away from home.
