Options in Vic
Once upon a time Victoria was a fairly inexpensive place to live and visit. Recently, however, EVERYTING has become more expensive. If you live here on a single income you are pretty much forced to rent with room mate unless you happened to have bought your house years and years ago...
As for short stays... A few years ago Traveller's Inn and Travelodge would offer rooms at $29/night which was an amazing deal. These days the least expensive you will get for a small room is $49/ night. This does het you a 3* room with own bathroom , TV and Coffee Pot.
If You are looking for something a little Less Try Ocean Island Bacpacker's Inn. It is not the cheapest in the world but has many options such as dormitory or privare room. You can also rent by the month.
There is a Hostelling International youth Hostel which I believe has rooms for $17/night and A Turtle refuge Hostel.
If you have a little more money to Burn Victoria has MANY Hotel options for between $100-$400/night.
The Empress is the Oldest Hotel in Victoria. The rooms are small but it is worth it for the View and the History. This building id beautiful and the Centerpiece of most of our Postcards.
Thr Bedford Regency and the Best Western also Occupy "Character Buildings" But have more modern rooms.
Moving away from History We have the Laurel point Inn and Spa. One plce that is beautiful and New with a great view. The only new building I have ever wanted to try and stay in. It is quite expensive However.
The Harbour Toweres is close to everything (including many more hotels) And The Days Inn on Dallas Road has the very best View in Town!!
There is also The Ocean Point Resort By Delta Hotels andThe Requisite Holiday Inn.
All of these can be foun DownTown (or close to) and are in The Yellowpages. I would be happy to mail any Phone #'s ar emaild from these hotels to you.
Have a great Stay!!!
