A comfy suite for a weekend getaway

I didn't initially seek out the Alpenglow when looking for accommodation, but I was booking through Whistler's official central reservation system in hopes of getting their special Pemberton Festival $99/night rate. When I phoned them, they only had two properties left with those rates and the Alpenglow was one of the two choices. Based on its location in the north part of the village, I thought it would be a good pick.

When we arrived in Whistler, we were given directions to the check-in office, and it was then that I realized we had actually booked ourselves into a condo as opposed to a true hotel. Not that it really mattered to us, but the check-in procedure was slightly more complicated only based on the fact that we had to check into an office across the street that closed earlier than their hours suggested. As a result, we had to phone around and get a security guard to open up their office and check us in. While the check-in was a hassle, the check-out took us 2 seconds, and the rest of our stay was good.

Unique Quality: Located in a quiet part of the village next to grocery stores, coffee shops, boutiques, and restaurants. There's an outdoor swimming pool with a hot tub, and every suite has a full kitchen and a balcony. We had Aveda products in our bathroom which were really luxurious. Because every suite is individually owned/managed by separate vacation rental companies, experiences may differ, especially the check-in and check-out locations. You cannot access the building until you have checked in from an office elsewhere. A gated paid parking lot is downstairs: $15.00 for 24 hours of parking. There is also a consierge in the lobby - a lobby which you can only enter once you have the radio key card to get into the building.
