More about Alpine Chalet Whistler Inn
Nice place with some minor cons
by TripAdvisor Member Sushar
The Alpine Chalet was a very nice place to stay with gracious hosts and neat accomodations.
The positives were:
- Situated in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood.
- Neat and well-maintained accomodations.
- Friendly and very helpful hosts.
- Good and tasty breakfast.
- Balconies in the rooms and fireplaces in the suites.
Some minor negatives were:
- A little distance (5 min drive; 15 min walk) to the center of the village.
- Rooms were small including the Spruce Chalet 'suite'.
- A little bit on the expensive side.
Overall, definitely a nice place to stay unless you want to stay in the village.

Great stay in Whistler

We stayed in the Alpine Chalet for a 10 day skiing vacation. It is a quiet inn in Alta Vista, a short bus ride from the village. The bus leaves either from the road outside the inn or from the highway across the road. They go every 15-30 mins. Taxis are always available to get home from the village with at night. It had quiet, clean rooms, most ensuite, a large living room downstairs with fireplace, steam room and outside hot pool. Breakfasts were large consisting of fruit, cake and a cooked dish and coffee. The hosts were very friendly, engaging and helpful and made our stay a very pleasant experience. The inn may have been a little expensive but it was worth it. We'd stay there again.
One of our favorite B&Bs!
by TripAdvisor Member LYFB
The Alpine Chalet is a lovely place! We thought the location was convenient as it was a quick drive to the slopes, with free parking. The coziness of the Chalet and Ivana's hospitality made this a great choice over a mountainside location.
The Hemlock room was amazing. Things we loved about the room:
-the tightly woven carpet
-the white duvet
-the jetted tub
-the separate shower
-the hot water that was not afraid to get HOT
-the natural surface countertop in the bathroom, the bathroom lighting, and the general decor of the room/bath
-the private balcony
-the armoire and dresser which gave me an hubby loads of space to unpack
-there were some movies in our room, although we didn't watch them
What we loved about the inn:
-Ivana is a genuine and great hostess. We enjoyed talking with her immensely.
-the handmade soaps
-the breakfasts were elegantly presented, varied, and hearty! We could not ask for better
-the no shoe policy -- makes you more assured of the inn's cleanliness
-the storage room with boot warmer
Everything about this inn is great! Wish we could have stayed longer!
It's good, but know what you're getting

My wife and I and another couple spent three nights at the Alpine Chalet in June. We based our choice on reviews from this site and we weren't disappointed.
A couple of things to know: the Alpine Chalet is small (8 rooms) and the rooms are small, much smaller than they appear on the inn's website. But they are nicely appointed. We only saw two other couples the entire time we were there, so it was awfully quiet - but I imagine during the hectic high ski season, it would be noisy. The inn is also about a mile away from the "village" of Whistler, which means it's a long walk there and back, particularly if you're doing any shopping in the village. So know what you're getting into. The inn is in a residential area of Whistler, which is a bit of a negative. In addition, there's not much of a view from the private balconies.
But our experience was very good. Our hostess was top-notch. Breakfasts were plentiful and flavorful, and both the wives got massages there too (both said they were the best they've had).
We'd recommend it, but we'd also encourage people to consider an alternative we did not consider at the time - finding a two-BR condo at or near the village.
Best place in Whistler!

We have been staying at the Alpine Chalet every year since 2002. We have vacationed all over the world and have never met friendlier more accomodating people like Vlasta, Ross and Ivanna, who run the Chalet. The rooms are very comfortable with soft linens and fireplaces and the breakfasts are some of the most unique and delicious I have ever eaten (love those Potato Latkes!). This is a short drive to the village (only 5 minutes) and also a pleasant walk. Partying in the village really isn't our scene, so the Chalet is a great place to retire for the evening and escape the noise of the village. Worth every penny!
Disapointing - Did not meet expections of a LUXURY B&B
by TripAdvisor Member PortiaD
Advertised as luxury accomodations - we were expecting a 5 star experience. While the host and hostess were very pleasant and took time to greet and chat with the guests - there were things that did not meet our expecations. Namely:
Website said that there would be bathrobes in every room, for lounging around in - in fact we had to ask for them.
We have a king size bed with only 2 fairly flat pillows - had to ask for extra pillows. On a King bed - there should be a minimum of four pillows.
Pilot light was not turned on for the fireplace in the room. Had to ask for it to be turned on and next day it was turned off again.
Too far from the Village of Whistler - a minimum half hour walk to get anywhere. Rooms were very small and no screens on the doors so you could keep your door or windows open at night.
The breakfasts were very disappointing. Both mornings a side plate with 1 small slice of cantelope, 3 or 4 blueberries, 2 rasberries as a first course. The main course was 3 small pieces of french toast served with jam. No protein - just carbs. No fresh fruit and cream - just commercially bought jam. The next morning we were served a crepe.....nothing inside the crepe (like fresh fruit, or savoury items) Just a plain pan fried crepe on a plate, again served with store bought jam. We usually like some protein at breakfast whether it be a protein shake, eggs, or whatever.....the breakfasts served to us were all carbs - and it seemed like they wanted to get away with the least expense possible.
We rate this a 3 star B&B with a 1 star Breakfast. For a few dollars more we could and should have stayed at the Four Seasons.
Cozy & Comfortable B&B
by TripAdvisor Member davidsharp
Our entire family paid a visit to the Alpine Chalet, booking 4 rooms. We have stayed at the B&B several times in the past so we decided to have a large birthday celebration. We were hosted extremely well during our three nights, with gourmet breakfasts and very cozy rooms. We had a breakfast each morning, a luxurious room and the cost wasn't much more than if we were to rent a normal studio in the Village. All of us fit into the Alpine Chalet’s outdoor hot tub which we used often. Overall, this B&B is the best bang for your buck in Whistler. It’s new, clean, very friendly and all in a luxury chalet. We highly recommend Alpine Chalet and we will continue to come back everytime.
rules and regulations
by TripAdvisor Member worldtraveller94
This B&B is beautifully built and maintained however........
You will only have 1 breakfast choice each morning and it is served for only 90 minutes. You can not wear shoes inside the house even though the owner does. You must not forget to lock the front door and there are no snacks, or extras in the sitting area anytime in the day. Just coffee, tea or water and you have to pay your bill in full before you ever arrive.
A Nice Place to Stay
by TripAdvisor Member Fifi01
We stayed in the alpine chalet for three nights as part of our Rockies\Vancouver tour. The chalet is large and spacious and obviously purpose built as a B&B. We stayed in the hemlock room which was spacious, clean and comfortable. It has a large jacuzzi bath which was great for getting rid of the aches after a days hiking or mountain biking. The room had a small balcony to the rear but unfortunately there is not much of a view. Breakfasts were ample but not the best that we had on our tour. Our hosts were helpful and welcoming at all times. The only drawback as mentioned by previous reviewers is the fact that the chalet is located about 2 miles or 20 mins walk from the main village. This meant you either had to take the car or get taxis when going out for dinner in the evening. We would definitely return.
