Request info on inexpensive lodging in Whistler

by RutiV

My husband and I are looking for a good deal on lodging in Whistler, we are looking for a studio or one bedroom for a 2 or 3 night weekend in March or early April, doing a last minute reservation is a possiblity. Where is the best place to look for deals at Whistler, we are looking for something pretty basic, no frills needed.

Try the Holiday Inn. We stayed there several years ago and it was very reasonable in October. It is near a large grocery store and not directly on the center part of the main village, but still a short walk to everything. Rooms were nice and they had studios with kitchens.

The word "inexpensive" is not in the vocabulary when it comes to Whistler. Expensive accomodations, expensive food, expensive, expensive expensive. It is NOT a good travel bargain

The Whistler/Blackcomd website is very good and lists everything. You can also try "www.VRBO.com" . Mid March is shool break time which will explain why the " Availability Calendars " have few choices in mid March. If you want to save money rent a condo/suite with a kitchen.

Travel Tips for Whistler

Close to nature

by Pat&ZoAnn

After spending all that money to go up the mountain on a bear watching tour, we saw this family of bears just ambling into the town. As we were catching a bus for our Ziptrek tour, we only had the opportunity to fire off one shot.

Probably the best restaunt in Whistler

by aqazi about Araxi

We decided to treat ourselves and we chose exactly the right place. This restaurant is excellent and has a pricetag to match. The menu is made up of local ingredients and the qualty is truly outstanding which makes this not only the best restaurant in town but perhaps one of the best outside of Vancouver. Service is great and the place is well located. We went for the seafood tower which we shared between 4 of us. Deserts were great so make room!

The 'Westcoaster', a concrete luge

by rmdw

Even in the summer, there's lots to do here ... especially for kids! They have this "ride", which is sort of like an outdoor gravity-powered roller-coaster. There's also a miniature golf course, wall climbing, and other fun activities.

Tree Trekking

by Chip_Master

I was skeptical this would be fun. The wife signed us up and it turned out to be a blast. Like all the other tours they provide everything including transportation to and from the village.

Since my kids were young we didn't do the full zip adventure sliding back and forth thru the trees. We treked 80-150ft above the valley in some great old growth trees between Whistler and Blackcomb. Watching the zippers looked like a blast. They got 4 rides across the valley going way to fast.. Too bad my boys weren't up for it.

Whistler Christmas 2004

by dbeatty

We spent Christmas 2004 in Whistler Canada. We skiied, snowboarded, Ziptreked, Snowshoed and Snowmobiled. It was a beautiful place. We flew into Vancouver and drove to Whistler, which was about a two hour drive.
