GLACIER VIEW B&B: Bed & Breakfast

We chose to stay at Squamish instead of Whistler as it was cheaper.

We chose this the Glacier View B&B, and what a beautiful position it was situated, high in Squamish and overlooking the snow capped mountains.

We were downstairs, had our own side entrance, very nice. This b&b we had to share the bathroom, but we didn't have any problems.
There was a sitting room with TV, DVD, VCR and fridge.
Breakfast was very nice, upstairs, with great views. The area what quiet, and there was parking for our car.
Hosts were very nice. They told us they had a Bear in the street a couple of days before we arrived and that Bears often frequent the area!

They recommended a Hotel where we could eat, this was as good as they said, only I can't remember the name.

RATE IN 2010.......$110 canadian a DOUBLE PER NIGHT
We enjoyed our stay here!

Great views

Rainbow Park Youth Hostel: Rainbow Park Youth Hostel

This is a clean and friendly youth hostel located quite a long way from Whistler Village - it will take about 45 minutes to walk or you can get on one the buses that run quite regularly.

To get there from the bus stop you need to walk down about 100 steps, cross a railway line and there it is. It's a very interesting hostel in this repect, the stairs are wooden and look very picturesque making for a great photo.

The bus will cost about $1.50, a taxi about $15.

Nice view of the lake but on the opposite side of the lake to the village.

August Jack Motor Inn: August Jack Motor Inn

We stayed in Squamish, BC, which was not too far from Whistler. The hotels in Whistler were kind of on the expensive side. This motel just off Highway 99 in Squamish was fairly cheap and the room was great. I would call it a typical, average roadside motel.

Riverside RV Resort: The only campground close to town.......

A nice campground with friendly staff and good facilities. Tours can be booked at the front desk and there is also a real grass 18 hole putting course. Accomodation ranges from self-contained log cabins, fully serviced and winterized RV Sites and private, natural tent sites. Although it was one of the only places to camp in Whistler, it provided us with good facilities with a great location to stumble back to.

There is a shuttle ser vice provided free of charge into town. Although it is much nicer to just walk along the river.

HI in Whistler

HI in Whistler. It's small, very scenic, comfortable, and located right next to a lake - beavers just come swimming by. It's a 5-10 minute bus ride from Whistler or about a 45 minute walk. If you walk it, go right at the lake - not left...I got a little lost. And, take your shoes off when you get there - wooden floors - I didn't know.

Pan Pacific Hotel: Pan Pacific Hotel

This is the closet place to stay to the mountain without actually sleeping right on the hill. You literally step out the door and you are ready to ski. Beautiful hotel with a great Irish Whiskey bar. Also has a Sports Shop (Mountain Adventure Centre) that has great deals on ski rentals.

Any lodging in the village is...

Any lodging in the village is perfect. You can walk right on to the slopes. One of the easiest ways to get lodging is through the Whiskey Jack Resorts rental agency. It is located right in the center of the village and rents property in most (if not all) of the condos.

Superior location to the mountain. The village is self-contained in that it has bars, restaurants and shops. You never need to drive anywhere!
