When is the weather best for skiing at Whistler?
by swdke
I understand the ski season is from about Nov. to April, but what I'd like to know is when is the best time to come when it's least likely to rain during the ski season? I can understand that do to Whistler's location, it can rain at any time during the ski season, but is there a period when the odds are favorable for not raining? Can anyone offer any suggestions? Thanks.

I would NEVER want to be held to this answer. Maybe New Years and February

i would not say the ski season is from november. often there is not enough snow that early.
i'd say january to mid march is a pretty safe bet.

mid February is probably the time where rain is least likely and just work both ways from there for increasing odds of rain.

In addition, I've always found the best skiing is in early to mid March as the rainy season has started at the lower elevations but the higher elevations get ALOT of snow during this period

Mid january to mid March as noted previously.
We have been there the last week of January and had six days of sunshine. Skied everywhere.
Just recently we were there the second week of March. Two, one week stays.
It was snowing 5 1/2 days of the six both times. Only two days there was some rain near the bottom.
The snow is heavy and deep in March. You have to be in shape.

I did the season last year - I would say the best time would be late Jan early Feb. The temperatures are cold and teh mountains are at their quietest.
Travel Tips for Whistler
Canadians Think it's Warm When it's Really Not
by emilienoelle
When we were in Whistler in July it was generally in the high 60's (F) and the one day it got into the mid 70's all the Canadians were going around talking about how hot it was. They were wearing shorts and tank tops when it was clearly leather jacket weather. My point is, bring something warm to wear even if you are visiting in the summer.
Go for sushi
by hartmany about Sushi Village
It's my own fault. This place is said to have great sushi, so why did I get the teriyaki? None in my party got sushi, and that was a mistake. The cooked entrees are only average. This second floor Japanese restaurant has no view, so the draw has to be the sushi.
Shannon Falls

This is Shannon Falls. We stopped there on our way to Whistler. It's about halfway between there and Vancouver near a place called Squamish. It's quite spectacular scenery with an easily accessible excellent viewpoint

"CANADIAN RESORT TOWN"
Located in the province of British Columbia, Canada, approximately 125 kilometres north of Vancouver, is Whistler.
Population changes considerably here in Winter, when many young Australian's and European's come to work.
I have friends that have flown from Australia, just to go skiing in Whistler.
Over two million people visit Whistler annually, mainly for alpine skiing and mountain biking at Whistler-Blackcomb.
I did like that it was a "pedestrian village," but for me, it was just too expensive, and too upmarket.
We enjoyed the Gondola ride to the top of Blackcomb Mountain, and the walk around Whistler, but it really wasn't "our cup of tea."
Skiing in the Clouds at Whistler

Whistler/Blackcomb can get big dumps of heavy powder in March . This can be good and bad.
There is lots of snow which is good. The snow is heavy and unless you are fit you are pretty well exhausted by days end.
