We stayed in the Montebello luxury townhomes during our vacation to Whistler. While the townhouse was adequate, is was marketed as high-end luxury which is misleading. The living-area furnishings such as sofas and fold out sleepers are the lowest grade possible. The beds were comfortable and well appointed, although the rooms are so small that there is barely a foot of clearance between the bed, dresser and walls. The stone floors and kitchen are nice and newly renovated, however the prison-issue towels and industrial toilet paper are certainly not luxury. The television sets are all very old and losing their pictures. There was only one dvd player which only occassionally worked and no dvd player in the den where we were hoping to set the kids up in the evenings. We were promised a bbq grill, but there was not one at the house and the rental company was not helpful about this. Finally, for our 6-day stay, there was not a single housecleaning day - another touch that most would expect from a true luxury property. The house is adequate and more space than a hotel room, but not luxury.
Unique Quality: Heated floors are very nice - although it's the only source of heat so bedrooms get very chilly. Hot tub is well maintained. If you don't have small children, the walk to Whistler Village isn't too far.
Directions: Off of Blackcomb way in the Montebello neighborhood of houses and townhomes.
