Highland Motel: Good Bang for your Buck

The Highland Motel is located just south west of the city limits.

Its reasonably priced and listed as a two Star Motel.

Each room is equipt with a Fridge, Microwave, Coffee Maker, Free WiFi and on site laundry facilities for all guests.

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. A rare find these days. The Motel is a little older and as such the rooms were o.k. but not the cleanest I’ve stayed in.

Cleanliness issues aside the Motel’s location couldn’t be better. With Walmart, Canadian Tire, Safeway, Tim Hortons, McDonalds, Boston Pizza and a shopping mall all within 3 minute walk I couldn’t have asked for a better or more convenient place to stay.

The Hotel’s Free WiFi provides a secure connection with a pass code available from the front desk when you check in. This Internet service is very fast but is spotty and unreliable tending to drop off and vanish without warning. Other cons of this location are:

- it appears each room comes standard with rather small Twin beds. I am only about five foot four and I found these beds to be a bit small even for me, so anyone with any real height will likely have issues while staying at this Motel.

- I stayed at this Motel for four days and house keeping never once came by to clean or maintain the room, so I had to help myself to fresh towels from the laundry room since house keeping never made an appearance.


Overall, not a bad Motel for a mere $55 a night, but the cons have to be considered before deciding whether or not to stay at the Highland while visiting Dauphin.
