I have stayed at Country Inn Suites for years, and have never failed to be satisfied.
Any deficiencies found within my room were immediately rectified, by happy, cheerful staff who have become friends over the years. Fresh coffee is always available, as is fruit of various kinds, even if you check in after midnight, as I so often did.
Big, cozy lobby, with fireplace flanked by over-stuffed armchairs, and various copies of Winnipegs newspapers for you to sit and read, or grab a copy to read in your room.
Free video tapes, current selection, await your perusal, and VCRs are in every room. Great to wind down with after driving for six hours in blowing snow on ice covered highways.
Unique Quality: Rooms are large, comfortable, and always very clean. You can either chose a regular room, or ask for a suite, which really is a very large room, divided by a separate bedroom. This is great if you are traveling with kids, your mother-in-law, or use your room for business meetings, as I often did. The couch folds out into a double bed. Lots of extra pillows and blankets are found in the closet.
Business-class rooms, of which they have many, are extra posh, thick comforters, big TV, easy chairs etc., plus they will bring you breakfast in the morning. (but you have to remember to place your order the previous night)
Shopping, movie theatre, and dozens of restaurants are within reach by car only five minutes away, as is the Winnipeg International Airport.
For comfort, friendly service, reasonable deals, call Debra at Country Inn Suites, and tell her BB's Dad sent you. (my parrot) She'll understand.
Directions: take sign towards airport off St.James, going west, turn left at Route 90 , which is also King Edward St. (one way street-southbound), and Country Inn is large powder blue complex on your right. (one min)
