I will be flying into Winnipeg this July and need to get to Winnipeg Beach. Does anyone know of any sort of transportation to get me from the airport to the beach? Unfortunately, I won't be quite old enough to rent a car.
Grey Goose Bus lines. A bus leaves the downtown bus depot once a day in the evenings. Cost seems to be $12.50 plus tax one-way. You can look it up yourself on the Greyhound web site. Grey Goose is the bus company that travels out of Winnipeg to the rural centres in Manitoba.

The Forks - an old warehouse complex, which they turned into a shopping and leisure place. It´s nice to sit outside in the summer and watch the dragonboat races on Assiniboine River. Or walk along the riverpath up to Osborne Village. Nice cafes and shops. The thing I miss the most is my family. And the friendlines of the people.
Not to forget, the bagels from 'Bagel Factory' on Pembina Hwy.
This is a city built on cultural diversity. Be mindful of where you are and that a bigoted comment that comes out of one's mouth could be overheard and that would be most unpleasent. We have many minorities and clubs here and one can find a member from almost any cultural background.
The Assiniboine Downs is the local racetrack for horse racing. There are usually races on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Any holiday monday will have races. Open from May - Oct.
The Aug. long weekend Monday is the Manitoba Derby. On this day, the biggest race (largest purse) is held.
Sundays are family days. There are pony rides, petting zoo and kid activities. The admission to the track is free. All activities for the kids are free. NOTE: food and drinks sre very expensive. I usually bring my oen in a backpack.
There is a resturant and bar on sight. It is cheap entertainment. A couple $2 bets a race will cost you less then $40 for the day if you don't win any races.
If you are bored out of your skull in Winnipeg, why not take a drive down some of our EXCITING rural roads, where you can glimpse wheat, wheat, and more wheat. (& maybe some canola or flax, if you're lucky)
This ideal sports bar boasts numerous pool tables with a friendly attentative staff for all your alcoholic needs. The crowd is usually very outgoing with many regulars. If drinking is not your thing, try a game of darts, shuffleboard or electronic trivial pursuit. They even have a table tennis table for challenging players.
