The poshest place to stay

I've stayed here on a couple of special occasions, and never been disappointed. The rooms are clean and modern, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

It's what you would expect.

Unique Quality: Certainly among the poshest, nicest and newest of the hotels in Fredericton, north-facing rooms overlook the St. John River.

Originally built about 15 years ago as the Sheraton, it took on the Delta Fredericton name a year or so ago.

It has 222 guest rooms, including what Delta calls 21 Signature Club rooms. It also has both indoor and outdoor pools, sauna and an excercise room. There's also free parking and complimentary high-speed Internet access. Just off the main lobby, there's Bruno's Restaurant (which I recommend trying), as well as a lounge.

The Delta F'ton also has large rooms with dividing walls to accomodate conferences, conventions, banquets, wedding receptions, etc. of any size.

There is a walking/bicycling trail along the banks of the river.

As well, there are 2 large parks within walking distance of the hotel:

Wilmot Park is about 400 metres west of the Hotel, a short walk. If you've got children, there's a play area for them with swings, etc., and and outdoor wading pool. For those older, there's a baseball diamond, tennis courts, lawn bowling, etc.

About 6 blocks away (around 1.4 kms from the hotel), there's Odell Park. It has nice trails to follow in the woods, stuff for children, and is a popular place to have a picnic.

At little beyond the entrance to the park is the large Atlantic Superstore, where you can pick up some groceries for your room, or for a picnic. This is about 2 kms from the Delta, at the intersection of Dundonald and Smythe Streets.
