The Murray Premises is one place in St. John's I had always wondered about after trying a couple of good restaurants on the Premises. The Hungry Fisherman and the Press and Bean are both great places to eat. I have seperate tips on them both.
I experienced some miscommunications getting checked in but the General Manager "Hilda" dealt with it in a professional manner. I appreciated this and would stay at the hotel again.
I was in room 401.
It's always great when there is free high speed internet and there was in this case.
To get to the fourth floor you take the elevator to the third then walk to the top. You can see from the picture that the rooms up there are like lofts. The rooms were clean, very quiet.
I liked the view from this floor especially during the Busker Festival where I was able to get a good view of lots of the activity.
When I booked the room I think they sold the room a little short. Meaning where it was one of their smaller rooms they mentioned this. I thought the room was just great for me anyway. I'd probably try one of the suites at some time.
Unique Quality: Heritage Location, on the waterfront.
Another important quality if you are visiting the downtown district you are in a great place to start your downtown exploring. If your up late on George Street you'll also save yourself the cab rides.
There was also free parking there which is a challenge in downtown St. John's.
Directions: Downtown - Waterfront
