Pamper yourself at the Spa!
St. John's is not a place that has a lot of spas but the trend has now caught on in this city as well with the opening of the Spa at the Monestery. It is just as it sounds as it is a refurbished monestery. It's Newfoundland and Labrador's only 5 star location.
There is a section of the spa called the Vitally Room that you have access to with your stay. It has cardio equipment, a hot tub, a salt water pool, a polar dip pool and a steam room. I spend some time in this area and went through a couple of cycles from hot to cold. It is extremely relaxing.
There are to many other spa extras for me to mention in this tip. It's best to get on the web site. I hear the messages are great too.
For me I enjoyed the jazucci in the room with a light in it. That was neat. I especially enjoyed the king sized bed that was possibly the most comfortable one I've stayed in. It's hard to say if that's so but it was comfortable and I wasn't in the mood to get out of it the next morning.
With your room you also have access to the cafe and continential breakfast. You can also buy some wraps and stuff there throughout the day. If you call there are times of the year when they would sell gift certificates for $100 per night. Those are a real deal.
I would give the spa two thumbs up. Go treat yourself!!!!
