Delta Barrington

The Delta Barrington is one of several upscale hotels in downtown Halifax. It's a very unconventional looking hotel, and I have stayed here at least a dozen times. There are several things I don't like about it, like the parking situation, ease of access, the size of the rooms, and the price, but other than that, it's a nice hotel.

The hotel is built in an old building that is part convention centre, mall, and historic property. There are a series of winding hallways that lead to restaurants and back entrances to bars along Granville Street like Peddler's Pub.

If you're there in the winter, the Barrington is a good choice because it's connected to many downtown attractions by covered pedways. You can get to the Casino without having to go outside.

Unique Quality: They now have high-speed internet in the rooms. If you stay in the Signature rooms, you get a free continental breakfast.

There's valet parking, but it's very expensive. If you don't chose their parking, it's hard to find something else close.

The restaurant in the lower level has an amazing breakfast buffet.

I stayed at the Delta Barrington for 2 nights. My friend who had booked the rooms booked the quality of room that is just above the standard level. Our plan was to get a room with a couch that I could sleep on! Didn't quite work out as we got a room with two chairs! To make a long story short they offered us a cot which turned out to be much better then a couch.
Our stay was great. The only real bonus I saw from this level of room was the portable phone, a little more room, 2 chairs and well..........a shoe polish pad thingy! Other then that it was like a normal room

I stayed at the Delta Barrington before and it was a very nice hotel as you might expect from Delta.

It was during some seafood type festival and the food was great. The rooms where also great.

Most importantly to me always in any event is the location. The Delta Barrington is located right in the heart of the downtown area so you can explore all of downtown on foot from hear easily.

A lot of people go to the Casino in Halifax and this is just a very short walk away across a couple of streets and you are there.

This hotel is in the heart of the city near the waterfront. The pubs and shops of Barrington Place are just minutes away. Modern hotel with friendly and efficient staff. Wide ranging facilities.

This is a moderate to high chain owned hotel. It has interesting shops in the building and nearby. It is close to interesting and good places to eat within varying walking distances. Within walking distance of the harbor and a few in town attractions of general and historic interest.
