A very central and good stay downtown Halifax

When arriving at the hotel at 11 a.m. our room hasn't been ready: For just a little money we got an upgraded room. The staff was very helpful and we really enjoyed our stay.

OK Location

Unique Quality: This place isn't far from everything but personally, I'd prefer to stay at a hotel that has more character.

Delta Confusion II

Right across the street from the Delta Barrington... no seriously, directly across the street... is the Delta Halifax. This is the Delta I most like to stay at in Halifax.
It's similar in room size, service, and location (obviously) to the Barrington, but the parking is easier and the building is layed out more like a hotel.

The rooms are a decent size, but could be bigger. You can't go wrong with a Delta Hotel, because they always have excellent amenities and services.

Unique Quality: The hotel is connected to the pedway system and to Scotia Square, a large mall complex that has seen better days.

It's very close to the Halifax Metro Centre, so if you're going to attend the Halifax Tattoo or a concert, I would recommend staying here.

Prices are about the same as the Delta Barrington.

If you are interested in a higher priced hotel I would recommend the Delta Halifax.

Unique Quality: It's one of the higher priced hotels in the area, but is worth the extra price in regards to service & location. All the rooms have been upgraded & the pool,hot-tub & gym are excellent.

I need your assistance..

by samantha2004

I plan on staying in Halifax in the beginning of August. I've been deciding between the Delta Halifax, Holiday Inn Harborview or Holiday Inn Select Halifax Centre. Are they in safe areas? I read some of the comments in the warning area of this site but I'm not sure if these hotels are in those areas. Also, any comments about any of these hotels? Thanks!

Halifax is safe all over town. I hope this year there will not be another hurricane Juan though.

The Delta is in a safe area. Halifax in general is a very safe city to visit. But of course there are casinos, so late at night, there may be a couple of drunks, bitter after losing money; just stay clear of that crowd and you will be fine.

I'd go for the delta halifax.. its smack dab in the middle of downtown on the main street, next to everything - restaurants, waterfront, shops. And yes, Halifax is a very safe city so nothing to worry about. Theres also a shuttle that leaves from the Delta to the airport every hour or so..
