Halifax has many charming Victorian houses. Before spending the rest for the youth hostel, we decided on staying in a bed & breakfast on our first night. The main reason for this is we wanted a hearty breakfast before our day of kayaking!
Our friendly host Joe did not disappoint, serving me a crepe with fruit sauce and my girlfriend an apple/raisin bread pudding. Yummy! The only sad part was that due to different schedules, we only met Joe in the morning. We have kept a fond memory of this place and would definitely consider staying there again if/when we go back to Halifax.
Garden View is located within walking distance of the Citadel and, if you don't mind going up and down Halifax's steep streets near the waterfront, nearly every major attraction in town.
