This place has just one thing going for it: it is 90 seconds from the Halifax Airport. Other than that, it is not an especially nice place. It appears to be at the end of its renovation cycle since the bathroom tiles are stained and cracked. Good quality kleenex tissues are thicker than the towels. Hallways have an odd odor and, and this is a big one, you can't get to most rooms without hauling your luggage up stairs--in some cases, two flights of stairs. That's right, no elevators, no ramps, no handicap access to lots of the rooms. Even most of the main floor has a three stair rise just off the lobby so you can't even use a luggage cart all the way to your room.
There IS a wireless internet connection, but it is falsely advertised as "high speed." If you think an old 56k dial up connection is "high speed" then you will be satisfied, otherwise plan on spending a good while grabbing your email. If you plan to relax with an in-room movie, good luck--the service didn't work in our room.
Unique Quality: The one good thing about the hotel is that it is very convenient to the airport and rental car return areas. You can be there in about a minute or so. There is a restaurant in the hotel but really nothing else within several miles so eat before you get there.
Directions: Right next to the airport grounds.
If you're not going into Halifax, want a cheaper place to stay, or are coming in late at night and don't want to go into Halifax until the next morning, this is a convenient place to stay. It's a very basic hotel, with a decent restaurant (convenient, since there's nowhere else to eat in the area other than at the airport or at Tim Horton's). I appreciated the clean and quiet room and the fairly friendly and efficient staff.
Unique Quality: no unique qualities- everything is pretty standard
I stayed in this hotel enroute home from Spain and got stuck in Halifax because of a snow storm.
With no wheels this hotel turned out to be very convenient. It was just a minute from the airport, free shuttle service, the rates where cheap and the hotel itself was very comfortable.
If going to Halifax I would go downtown but if just passing through this is a fine spot to stay.
Unique Quality: Three minutes from the Halifax International Airport, 35 minutes from downtown Halifax, we are the ideal location for those with an early flight or late night arrival. Let us take care of you, and enjoy a comfortable night’s sleep before continuing on with your journey. We offer 24 hour complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport.
