I had to take that picture!
On your way in or out of Lunenburg, I highly recommend making a short detour through the lovely town of Mahone Bay. We hadn't heard about this place so we only drove through it but had we known beforehand, we probably would have taken the time to visit a bit for it is such a charming town! It is smaller than Lunenburg, but has the same type of architecture and landscape. I'll make sure to go if I make it back to Nova Scotia!
Beside Lunenburg is a major tourist attraction of Nova Scotia and an UNESCO World Heritage Site, there are many informative signboards which will guide you through the town and explain to you the history, culture and architecture of this lovely town.
Lunenburg is perhaps one of the most famous town in Nova Scotia and it is an UNESCO world heritage site. This town is very colourful and scenic, and is located along the picturesque coastal road from Halifax passing by Peggy's Cove and Mahone Bay.
