Travel Tips for Lunenburg
must see's for this area
by blondie091
When in or near Lunenburg do be sure to get a few miles out of town to a place called Blue Rocks. It's a very picturesque and beautiful area, photographers dream come true.
One can easily see many artists and their eisles purched high above the rocks on a consistent basis. Also take route #332 through places of scenic beauty from Lunenburg such as Bayport, Rose Bay, The Ovens Natural Park, Hirtles Beach, Riverport and cross the short ferry ( LaHave River Cable Ferry) at East LaHave and route #331.
Beaches and coastal beauty alonf this route. Crescent Beach Risser's Beach and Green Bay and a bit further is Broad Cove Beach, Cherry Hill Beach and Voglers Cove.

There is a Bluenose II Company Store conveniently located at Bluenose Drive which sells various souvenirs of Lunenburg and Bluenose II (see my VT tip). The buidling itself is painted bright yellow and is very impressive.
Historical Fishing and Ship Building Town
by SassyCycler
"An Official World Historical Town"
Lunenburg is another small town in southern NS that has a lot of history. Because of its penninsular shape it became a strong fishing and ship building town. Beautiful homes, lovely shopping, independent artists and boats that will make your jaw drop.
