The Coopers Inn is in a great location right on Dock Street. We only stayed for one night but wished that it could have been longer. Our room was very nice with a view of the water and was spotlessly clean.
We were made to feel very welcome and there was even a personalised welcome note waiting for us in the room. The Coopers is in a great location and ideal for exploring the town on foot without having to worry about driving.
Breakfast was a great experience and offered something for every taste including home-made muffins etc.
We would definitely stay there again if we are ever lucky enough to return to the area.
Shelburne is a pretty little historic town and a wonderful destination at any time of year but we especially enjoyed our fall visit this year.
The "Lighthouse" owners are friendly and eager to please. They have roots in NS and have taken over the former 'Bear's Den B&B'.
We walked the waterfront streets and boardwalks and explored some of the shops along the way.
Central location, easy to find. Clean and comfortable rooms. Reasonable rates.
A short walk to the waterfront.
Several restaurants nearby.

The Bear's Den Bed & Breakfast (est. 1987) has been in continual operation for 13 years. The owner is a Nova Scotia native who resided in Reno Nevada and Sacramento California for 25 years before returning home. Absolutely wonderful! Jo-Anne is a great hostess and made my stay personal and memorable! She's an artist - ask her for painting lessons, she's a great teacher! If I can paint, anyone can!
Ingomar is a small fishing village, right on the ocean, in Shelburne County, near the town of Shelburne. I flew into Halifax and took a shuttle from there to Shelburne. Jo-Anne picked me up in Shelburne and took me directly to my cottage.
There are five cottages to pick from, each cottage designed and furnished around a specific theme. The 'Romantic Cottage' includes a large hot tub. Each cottage has a breathtaking view of Ingomar Harbour from any vantage point in the living room, kitchen or covered front deck. They are nicely decorated and Jo-Anne even took my grocery list and did all the shopping before I got there! The fridge and pantry were full of exactly what I'd asked for! Talk about personal service!
Things to experience nearby: an 18-hole golf course, the sandy beaches and the historic town of Shelburne. But for me, it was the solitude.
I went in the middle of winter - a great time to go because nobody else is around. I took walks along the frozen beach and watched the lobster fishermen attempt their daily voyages.
Most unique are #1, the hostess, Jo-Anne. She does a marvelous job of making her guests feel welcome and taking good care of them. #2, the views: gorgeous!
