Riverside park is the perfect way to spend a day outdoors. This park offers something for everyone. There is a splash pad for children, numerous playgrounds, a skatepark for teens, ball fields ( which in winter are turned into ice rinks), and numerous trails that range from the laid back scenic to the extreme for whatever physical range you happen to be in. Families can be seen on weekends gathering here with a portable BBQ for some fun in the sun.
The park is open to cars so getting in and out is easy but there are trails in which no traffic can pass. My favorite way to spend a nice day is to grab my dogs and hit the mountain bike trails for a run. Rarely do I run into other people so my dogs can run free and I can challenge myself on the steep hills. The scenery is beautiful as long as you don't mind spiderwebs in the face. There is no end of the things you can do on a nice day- play frisbee, jog, bike, fish, cook, suntan. There are even boot camps that hit the park in the nice weather.
