Beach volleyball in Guelph?

by Stevie__B

Hi folks,

I'm planning to stay in Guelph a while over the next year or so and was wondering if there's any beach volleyball leagues over that way.

I know it may seem a bit daft having beach volleyball hundreds of miles from the sea but it does happen.

Anyway, I'm not very good (yet) so if anybody knows of some half-baked team looking for another old lag to join, please let me know.

Thanks Martha.

It looks like there's a positively thriving beach-volleyball scene over there!

Truly amazing...can't wait.

Hi Steve - There are 2 sand "courts"? (I don't what you call them) set up in a park by the river. A nice location. I see people playing there in the summer, but do not know how it is organized. If you hang around the area you will bump into the guys & gals & knowing the people around here you will be welcomed into the group.

When are you coming? We are just now getting some spring weather and they wont set up the nexts for about another month I would think.

Tubing at Elora Gorge Conservation Area

by Faiza-Ifrah

We have been frequent visitors to this conservation area, which is well known in the region for its campgrounds, tubing, kayaking, and hiking trails.

The Elora Gorge is one of the most beautiful and spectacular natural area in the Grand River valley. The Grand River rushes through the gorge, which has 22-metre high cliffs. Riverside trails (with safety barriers) and scenic overlooks provide hikers with stunning views of the water far below where kayakers and tubers make their way through the rapids.

Please note that warning signs are posted throughout the conservation area regarding safety around the gorge. Exercise caution during your visit, and stay on the trails. Stay away from the edge of the gorge and do not climb over the fences.

The Area is located at 7400 Wellington County Rd. 21, Box 356, Elora, ON N0B 1S0.

For details, please visit my pages on Elora. This conservation area with a wide range of adventure activities deserves a full page.

We have a brewery in Guelph and it's been around since 1834. It's now owned by these guys: Sapporo Holdings Ltd They have been around since 1876 but they are Japanese and the Japanese love to shop so God bless them.

This charm town got its name in honour of king Georg IV - wich family name was Gwelf.
Today it's in "top-10 best canadian towns for life" (accordind to Chatelaine magazine).
The University (include Ontario Veterinary College) has a good reputation too.
