I wish I could take a nicer picture, but the sun rises partly on the other side of the building....
maybe next time I should try climbing to the roof:)

The 'rail trails' that cross the heart of the city. Ride your bike or walk (a long walk) from the east mountain to downtown, or west mountain to downtown surrounded by beautiful scenery, and nature. There are also some excellent views of the city at different points along the trails.

When we reached Sherman Falls after hiking on the Bruce Trail, we found the ravine so heavily forested that the light value was poor requiring us to either use flashgun (not recommended at all to cover waterfalls) or use 2-3 stops above the normal exposure.
As at other waterfalls, we noticed mountain bikers exploring this Falls as well.
Sherman Falls is a 17 metres ( 55.76 ft) high and 8 metres (26.24 ft) wide curtain waterfall, whose source is Ancaster Creek. It is located on private property near the Dundas section of the Bruce Trail. It has a year-round flow and also enjoys the romantic nicknames of Angel Falls and Fairy Falls.
Other attractions in the vicinity include restaurant, retail stores, Town of Ancaster, Dundas Valley CA, Hermitage Ruins, Griffin House, Fieldcote Memorial Park & Museum, Dundurn Castle, Hamilton Farmers' Market, Crooks Hollow CA, Christie Lake CA, Tiffany Falls CA, Iroquoia Heights CA.
From Hwy 403 we took the Lincoln Alexander Parkway exit and merged onto Rousseaux St. At the ‘T’ intersection, we turned right onto Wilson St. E. Turned left onto Montgomery Road and then turned right at the stop sign onto Old Dundas Road. We went through the next three-way stop, Lions Club Road, and parked on the gravel shoulder, where few other cars were also parked. The waterfall is located on the opposite side of the road.
Once I reached the base of the waterfall, I noticed that there were people actually standing behind it! I figured if they could do it, so could I. So, I had to cross over Spencer Creek by jumping from one boulder to another. The rocks are a bit slippery, so next time I would bring water shoes or tevas and just march right through the water instead! The photo shows the view of the waterfall from the other side of the creek. You can see several people standing behind it. Apparantly in summer months, it can become very busy with many children in the water, behind and under the waterfall.
Lion Safari runs on a radical concept, that the visitor is caged in the car, and the animals roam in 2 to 20 hectare (5 to 50 acre) reserves. Today the park houses in excess of 1000 animals of over 100 species. After 30 years they have been successful with breeding 30 species that are considered endangered, and 20 or more species that are considered threatened.
The 9 km Safari Trail takes you through prides of lions, troops of baboons and herds of zebra. You will see big cats, baboons, white rhino, ostrich, aoudad, eland, giraffe and many other exotic and native species. You can either drive your own car or ride the Safari tour bus at an extra cost. The drive tour would take around 1hr.
You can also watch a lot of live shows here at African Lion Safari, including Birds of Prey flying demonstration, Parrot Paradise show, and Elephant Round-Up. Each show is around 20 minutes, weather permitting.
Also, you can take a cruise aboard the "African Queen" boat. You could see exotic birds and primates during your tour around Water Safari Lake. Animals of this area include the Ring-tailed lemur, Ground Horn-bills, Spider Monkeys, Celebes crested macaques and the endangered Angolan Colobus monkeys.
After, you could visit Waterfowl Lake and take a journey on the "Nature Boy" scenic railway. As you travel through this natural forest you will see some unique wildlife, but watch out for the snapping turtles!
Also, see Samson, George, & Albert (elephants) bath everyday & play by the lake.
Visit Pets' Corner and see animals and birds. Take a moment to pet and feed some baby goats. Children are encouraged to play hangout at Jungle Playground, featuring the Safari Venture, and Toddlers' Play. Then cool off in the Misumu Bay Wet Play area.
Convertibles, motorcycles and other unsuitable vehicles are not permitted to drive through the game reserves. Windshields with cracks are also not permitted to drive through the game reserves. Also, remember to not feed the animals, keep all windows closed and keep all doors locked!
