Highland Court Motel

I stayed at the Highland Court Motel the night before a triathlon event in Muskoka.

The motel is located on the west edge of Huntsville, which is away from the tourist section downtown. But since the town is small, the motel is located less than a 10 minute drive into the center of the town (the part geared to tourists). It is about a five minute drive to the Huntsville train station. The Highland Court Motel abuts a hiking trail and is in the vicinity of the EconoLodge and other budget motels.

Highland Court Motel compares favourably to the other budget accommodations in Huntsville. The motel is family-owned and operated by a friendly and helpful couple (Juergen and Sherry). The room in which I stayed was clean and fine. But don't expect anything fancy. This is a modest motel.

If you're looking for a more pampered feel, you should consider places like Deerhurst Resort or the bed and breakfasts in town. However, if you're looking for clean, budget accommodations in Huntsville and supporting a local family business, then I would recommend Highland Court Motel over other budget options in Huntsville.

Unique Quality: If you like to cycle, swim in lakes, or hike, Huntsville is a great place to visit. Unique qualities with this accommodation have to do with the price (less expensive than average) and value. This is not a corporate chain motel, just a family-business.
